All, It's been interesting to read your different opinions and reports. I've been busy and hadn't been on here in awhile. You will all be happy to know I changed oil and put in Amzoil 0-40 then "rode it out" and have no more issues. I will be putting 20-50 in this week because of the heat we are having and will let you all know if the problem returns.

hydraulic lifters are built into the ends of the rocker arms ????????????/ Roller rockers have lifters? Don't see lifters in any parts book

Here's another place to look in case you still don't believe the Vision has lifters: http://forums.thevmc.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=101454&posts...

Here is a link to the MFG of the rockers that our bikes have.

Look just like the image. cut away view of the hydraulic tip.

Anyone having lifter issues? I've got 39K on my '08 Vision. On start up I have a noisy lifter for a minute or two. If I take a short break and restart I don't hear it but if I sit for an hour or 2 I hear it rattle for a minute or more until it fills up with oil again. It's unsettling to listen to it ratlle but it definitely forces me to let it warm up good before I ride. I always change oil and filter at or before 3K miles.

I have an 08 Vision with 29K. Had a noisey lifter since September 1 2011, as stated above it would only rattle for about 20-25 seconds and then quiet down but then I could hear another noise that didn't seem quite normal. I took my Vision up to Lloyd the last week in February in back of my pickup and started it up for him. He said the first noise was definately a lifter but there is another noise when that quiets down. So I left it there and told him to take his time since the weather wasn't all that great anyway. Then came Daytona and after that the rash of warm weather in the northeast. Well Lloyd contacted me on Friday saying he replaced the lifter but wanted my permission to pull the front cylinder for the undiagnossed other noise. Of course I said go for it. I also asked him about putting the cams in while it was there so hopefully that will get done also this trip. Hope to hear more this week!
