Take the poll as to what warranty you currently have or decision you may make if you only have or had the one year warranty.

I'm not a big warranty person as I have not seen the need for them in my life time. Most warranty issues were worked out under the standard warranty with no reoccuring problems. Also, anything that would have been covered under warranty that wasn't because it had expired cost less than the warranty premium. So, this is a request for just a sampling of what folks have done out there with the Vision. I'm currently under the one year warranty but may lay down the additional $910.00 for the remaining 4 years of the 5 years in hopes that I will use it, so it will pay for itself. Of course, this is only a first edition concern, however, I think further issues would be covered under the recall with no cost to me. Comments are appreciated. That $910.00 would pay for my Street conversion with backrest and rack, so it is a tough decision.

I just purchased a 4 yr. Polaristar warranty. It starts and the end of the first year. $615. no deductible. My local dealer wanted a little over $900. for the same policy. I got it from Rocket City Power Sports. Scott 256-258-0440. He said he will give the same deal to all VRA members. I wasn't going to get a warranty. But for 615 bucks it seemed like a no brainer.

I was signing my life anyway, so what was another $900 bucks. Extended warranty paid for itself on my Mercury with one trip to the dealer for a bad rear axle seal, so I went for it. The Victory salesman never even mentioned it, I had to ask. I also had the tire and wheel insurance on my Yamaha. In 2006 it was $199 for five years. I picked up a nail and got a brand new tire installed. It would have cost me $183, so again it paid for itself. I cancelled the policy when I traded in or the Vic and am waiting on a $96 rebate. The Victory dealer was too slow on getting info on the tire insurance, so the Yamaha dealer wrote it for me on the Vision when I went in to cancel the gap and tire insurance. Price did go up to $399, but I think it's worth it since it covers tires (min tread depth requirement), wheels, and labor.

I'm still debating with myself over whether to get an extended warranty or not. I'm not a big fan of extended warranties any longer. My experiences have shown them to be a useless expense. I did not buy one in 2000 when I bought my SC, and I have never needed it either. Conventional wisdom would have dictated an extended warranty on a new model from a new bike manufacturer which had only been in production for one whole year at that point in time. The bike has been solid for 8 years now, as has the new bike manufacturer.
That being said, I'm still considering an extended warranty on my new Vision. I don't have any qualms about the reliability of the machine, BUT the thing has more electronic gizmos on it than anything else I own. The audio system is manufactured by the same company that produces the audio system for Harley Davidson. I think I would have been a little more comfortable if the system had been made by Clarion. The electronics employed by the Japanese manufacturers are pretty bullitproof these days, and the Goldwing has a quarter century of development and real world testing of its electronics. I do support Polaris' effort to use as much domestic content as possible, but I do not know how reliable Radio Sound's products are. Maybe some of you who have had Harleys with the Radio Sound audio systems can chime in here to let us know your experiences. I, for one, would like to know what we can expect in the way of reliability of these systems.
Like I said, I'm still debating about the extended warranty. In my experience, problems usually show up within the first year, if there are going to be any major problems.

I am still on the first year but plan to purchase the 4 year extension. I have worked in the automobile service profession my entire life and can't count the times I have told people how quickly an extended warranty pays for itself, I would feel like a hypocrite if I didn't buy one. I had the opportunity to talk to a Kingpin owner while I was having my 500 mile service done, he had his 4 year old Kingpin in because the turn signal flasher went out and was having it replaced free with no deductible. He told me that he has used the extended warranty several times and has never had to pay a cent and that he felt it was worth every penny he paid for it. I currently do inspections for aftermarket extended warranties on cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV's and I don't think I ever see a warranty company that has a zero deductible policy, especially on a policy that covers what Polaris does. If you ride anywhere on your Vision you can't begin to put a price on the peace of mind that comes with knowing that a couple thousand miles from home, if your baby breaks down, you don't have to cut loose of the money you brought along to enjoy your trip with for repairs.

That's just my 2 cents

Warranty is just insurance... 0 deductable insurance. Wether you expect something to go wrong or not you will have a peace of mind that if something does go wrong you'll be covered. I have a Vision on the way and while I love Victory I wouldn't go as far to say the Vision launch has been complete without some bumps in the road.

If an extended warranty smooths out some of those bumps then its a small price to pay.

I'm on the standard 1 year warranty but will be purchasing the other 4 years next April....

Like yourself I have never purchased an extended, but I'm not going to gamble this time. I can do all the work myself but the parts cost alone would make the warranty worth the $650 price tag.

I worked the 5 year deal on my vision when I bought it, if they want to make a sale they will add it if you want. Good luck

The extended warranty was a big part of me making the leap to Victory-when I bought my 1999 V92C it came with a 1+3 extended warranty and it was a good thing as it had some bugs that needed worked out and was able to get an '03 trans into it at the end of warranty + Polaris gave me a $500 gift certificate due to my bike waiting for parts for 6 months (better than nothing) it continues to be a great bike.My '03 V92TC came with 1+2 year deal and never saw the dealer after it was out of the crate-72,000 trouble free miles before it was traded in on a new leftover '09 Vision Tour Premium. Purchased in Feburary of '10 came with 1+5 year warranty & also had a $500 cupon from Victory towards the purchase knocked their price down to $16,000 how could I not buy it? It has had a headlight module & radio replaced under the first year's warranty but other than that it's been solid-Warranties are great especialy when they are honored-Brian

to fill in the time - gap, I got the 3 year warranty a few days before the 1 year warranty ran out. It paid for itself with the fuel pump replacement and the voltage regulator, even with high mileage. The regulator got replaced with 98,000 miles on the clock, two months before the entire warranty ran out. I had a net gain of a few hundred dollars with the warranty compared to if I never got it at all. The warranty worked for me in this case, but I'm still not a big fan of them.

I opted for the three year and it paid for itself and that's about it. Tried to upgrade before the time ran out but they wouldn't let me. September will be the five year mark for me, and I've made out alright.

Got my 09 Vision in Mar 2010 with a 3 year warenty. Cruise Quit working in Feb of 2011. Took it to Victory/Yamaha deal in Louisville, KY. He did not charge me for Diagnostic time. Problem was a pinched wire in fairing area, blowing fuses. They gave me an appointment so I could bring it in and wait on it. I'd rate this dealer as "A1". Good people.
