Fountain Inn, SC United States | Victory will be reissuing the Vision Passenger Backrest. The backrest was discontinued late last year due to quality issues from the vendor. The consensus was that the limited demand did not make finding another vendor viable. However, a small number of Victory staff lobbied hard to find a vendor, negotiate smaller production runs, and reissue the backrest rather than let the item die. It should be available through dealers by early August 2012.
Currently there's no indication whether the part number will stay the same but with smaller production runs, expect the price to be slightly higher than before.
Thanks to those guys at Victory that worked hard to see this through. It's staff riders' passion that won out over the bean counters.

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | And no one took one of the lower quality existing backrests to other several other manufacturers asking 'can you do better for the same cost'? Way to go you aggressive marketing dogs!!!

Boise, ID | I guess this is good news in the sense that it gives those of us looking for a backrest an option, but I would much rather buy the very versatile model that CycleOps has shown. Heard on this site that he is going through some difficult times personally. Feel bad for him and hope it all goes his way AND I would still be interested in the production version of what he was proposing. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Sheesh, I wanted pass on some good news and it was taken as bad. As for the backrests produced previously, I heard that there were issues with inconsistent quality of chroming and stitching of the pad. If you have one and its fine, then IT"S FINE!

Broken Arrow, OK | LOL I'm buying the new and improved and more expensive version!! I shall snicker when I see a trunkless Vision with a passenger backrest from the past and know deep down, there's possibly something inconsistent about it's quality....EWWWWWWWWW!!
