| On Monday I bought a low mileage 2002 V92C and rode it home, about 120 miles, at 75 to 80 MPH. Tonight I decided to change oil and drained NINE QUARTS OUT!! That's THREE quarts overfull! I could not believe it. It never leaked or spit any oil out and the air filter box was dry.
After the oil change it ran just like before, but it does shift easier and now easier to find neutral.
So my question; what if any damage could have occurred? Thank you!

| I didn't think it was possible to overfill a Victory engine by THREE QUARTS, but my wife was there and witnessed the oil pan over flowing all over the driveway. (She was not pleased)

Bancroft Ontario, Canada | was the bike in storage.....i know of folks who fill the oil space with cheap oil when storing the bike over winter etc.....need to change out before you ride though????

SF Bay Area | You might blow a seal, or have puked oil into the air filter through the crankcase vent. You may have oil forced back up into the connector for the voltage regulator, if your '02 is anything like the earlier bikes charging system.
The previous owner must have tried to do you a favor by changing the oil, and probably checked the level while on the side stand. It is doubtful he rode the bike for any extended time with the crankcase overfilled.

| you said 9 quarts and that would be 3 over full you said.
I don't know about those old models but I do know mine is only 4 1/2
So are you putting in the right amount? |

The original "hammer" engine and early "freedom" engines held 6 quarts. Talk about over engineering! I don't know the exact year, but Victory reduced the capacity to the current four and a half quarts.

| The rest of the story .....
Talked to the previous owner and sure enough he had checked the oil with the bike on the side stand! This caused him to believe the level was low, so he "added a couple of quarts, but don't remember for sure how much."
All he had to do was read the owners manual! Thanks for everyone's input.
