Honda is not having a great year. In the past two weeks the company has announced three different recalls, the most recent a CR-V recall. The current problem is with a fault in the master window switch, which could be shorted out by moisture and pose a fire risk. Will you be trying to purchase or sell a used or new auto? If this portrays you, take a look at Gus Johnson Ford!

Recalls just keep coming

During the last two weeks, Honda already released two recalls. Now, it is issuing a 3rd Honda CR-V recall. The Honda Pilot SUV and Civic Sedan were recalled for headlight wiring issues, but that was just an extension of an earlier CR-V recall issued this year, according to USA Today.

Only one model year of CR-V was impacted by a recall released this summer for the door latch problem.

There was also a Honda recall because of faulty power steering hoses. This affected the Acura ILX and Honda Accord sedans with V-6 engines.

Might cause a fire

All Honda CR-V automobiles impacted n the most recent recall were made between Feb. 19, 2002 and July 28, 2006, according to Inside Line. There are 268,655 vehicles in the U.S. impacted and 489,000 worldwide, according to AutoGuide. It only impacts model years 2002 to 2006.

The problem is with the master window swap, or the master control for power windows, located on the driver side door panel. The swap is positioned in such a manner that moisture from rain or snow can, over time, leak to the door leading to the possibility that the switch will short-circuit. The swap can overheat, melt and possibly cause an electric fire in the automobile.

The CR-Vs that are rarely used are the ones that are probably in danger of the problem. There have been four swap fires reported, though there were no injuries or accidents reported.

Not a big deal

Techs will examine and repair any problems with the switch for free, so owners should say howdy, Honda in Austin, TX or anywhere else a car dealership is nearby to bring in their automobiles.

Specialists will start repairs on Nov 2.

Everyone trying to find a CR-V should know about the issue and check it out before purchasing to make sure it has been repaired. Also, to be able to stay away from letting any more moisture in, owners of CR-Vs are being advised to park indoors whenever possible in order to reduce the risk.

ahhh, I see the connection. He's pointing out how anything Honda is no good, therefore you should buy a Victory Vision..., I saw that right off... thanks, BG!

vartder, I think you are right!! Even though he only mentions Honda CARS on a MOTORCYCLE site, he obviously is trying to tell us that since Honda is having issues with their cars, we should avoid the Motorcycles too, especially the one known as the "Goldwing". Heard about that one somewhere. LOL LOL LOL

Then there is the shameless plug of a car dealer. Slimey to me, but hey, when you are desperate.........

Hey Jedi, are you at least getting some revenue from shameless advertising plugs?
