I've decided to install the motor for the windshield, so I ordered one from Vic. The part number from Vic was  4011815.  Now I find a kit for installing the motor,  2876407.  Quick question for those in the know, What's the difference?    Will I have to buy more parts to make it happen?    This being a babe in the woods nubie sucks! It's being a NFG all over again.

From what I can tell 4011815 is just the motor ($268). 2876407 is a kit ($250)that includes the motor+ parts-here's the discription of the kit: Every Victory Vision is wired and ready to accept this Electric Windshield Kit, which then allows the driver to control the windshield height using the push button mounted near the left handgrip.
This kit includes a motor and necessary hardware to electronically adjust the windshield height.
Easy to install.
I'm guessing you want the kit

So the motor alone is $18 more expensive than the entire kit that includes the motor? Something doesn't seem right.

Yes, that's the description of the kit. When I bought my 8-Ball the dealer said, all you do is buy a motor and put it in. I guess it's not that easy, unfortunately, the motors in the mail and I need to figure out what " and necessary hardware" means. It can't be that much!

I'd send the motor back and order the kit.

I don't recall the part number of the motor I got, but I can tell you that even without instructions included it was one of the simplest modifications I have made on a motorcycle. It was just the motor, and nothing but the motor, in a cardboard box.
Good luck, you'll love it!

I'm sure the simplicity of pushing the switch will make both myself and the Copilot happy. I'm not sure how well the Post Office will be delivering this week with Sandy coming but the real answer will be in opening the box! Thanks, if I need more parts I'll just get them.

STOP STOP
Before you send it back take it to auto parts store and see if they can match it up. I do believe its a window motor out of a car. If no luck with auto parts try a big junk yard.
If you do let use know
