Picked my Tour Premium up Saturday and only put 50 miles on it before this danged Hurricane started brewing up near Houston. The looks of the bike are fantastic but the test drive sold it. Handles like my Suzuki with that low center of gravity.

Any suggestions, things to watch for, etc during the break-in period? I already read the Left Bag Alignment issue and mine is the same - will let them adjust at the 500 mile service. I am going to go through all the posts to get a handle on issues. I am a first time Victory Owner and have a lot of catching up to do.

I have a 2003 Suzuki Volusia (Boulevard C-50 name now) and a 99 Honda Valkyrie Interstate for sale in Hosuton area if anyone knows someone looking for a used bike.

Congrats on the new Vision. i have had mine for 6 weeks now. I only have 2000 miles on it. Since you mentioned the left bag alignment issue, i believe im in that same boat. Can you post a link to that issue.

Congrats Richard. I've a first time Victory owner as well and the Vision is one great bike. Hope you get many, many happy (s)miles. I'm curious on your comment of the "Handles like my Suzuki..." Do you see the Vision the same in handling, or just similar? Not having riden many other bikes, only a Honda 750 Custom, GL1200 and GL1500 GoldWing, I find the Vision to hands down, head shoulders above any of those other bikes.

My Suzuki Volusia (Now called ther Boulvard C-50) has an extremely low center of gravity with a low seat. It manuvers extremely well at low speeds in tight corners. The Vision does the same. You simply nudge it in a turn and it goes. Unlike my Honda Valkyrie that I could never do a slow speed u-turn comfortably.

So the Handling I am referring to is the dexterity of the bike at slow speeds, turning radius and the comfort of the low center of gravity.

Congratulations, Richard! I have had my Midnight Cherry tour since November, and I can tell you, it only gets better. I turned over 10,000 miles today, on my way in to work. No long rides as yet, only a few 300 mile days, and trips to work, but my father, Uncle and I will be heading to South Dakota in September. That should be fun! -----Metalguy

Congratulations on your new Vision. I would suggest that you ignore the comments on the forums and figure things out on your own. Many Vision riders consider things problems that are trivial to others. Make you own opinion based on your experiences.

I now have over 10k on my Vision and have had no problems outside of the bad reception on the radio and I cured that by upgrading the speakers.

On the 11th, I will commence a 5k -6k trip beginning with the AVR in Spirit Lake, IO and lasting over a month.

As for as the alignment goes, you can fix that by inserting about 5 washers in the rear bracket. It will take you about 30 minutes and cost about $0.30.

Gook luck, enjoy the ride and ride safe.

have to echo rmclarty. i can make turn on the vision which woulda' been scary on the ultra. i kept starting to pull out and then relized that if i just let the bike do it itwould do it. it's not how fast you ride it's how you ride slow and at slow speeds this bike has it over the others.

Congratulations! I would echo Bob in saying that you need to figure out what works for you. I have gotten too wrapped up in some of the issues myself, but am now realizing that enjoying the bike is key. Same goes for upgrading/enhancing the bike.

Enjoy!

Oh the Harley guys are here. Down went the neighborhood. Where waz my Dr. Pepper, is it over there or under there. Dangit. Maybe one of these Harley guys know its location. Hey Hog man, this here is chickenlittle, looking for a little confirmation of said Dr. Pepper. It's location has been broken down (harley reference). HHHOOOhheeeeHEEEEHEHE! Wait, what was that, anybody got 70 cents to get me one of those 12 oz's of liquid joy in a can? I promise I'll pay it back (comment from broken down (harley reference inside of this reference) buddy)!

Oh yeah! Congrats on the new ride. Ride it till you at least get all the little nipples on the tires wore off, then take a break.
Looking for a cheap bike for the wife to learn on. Those seem a little big for her to learn on.

Thanks Richard. I'll be curious how you will compare as you rackup the miles on the Vision. It is only from a curiosity stand-point for myself. But as they say, Curiosity killed the cat.

I have a 2003 Suzuki Volusia (Now the Boulevard C-50 name) for $4,500.00. Except shipping would be an added cost. My fiancee' has a 2001 Suzuki Volusia and it is a great starter bike. Very low seat and center of gravity.
