Wife uses them, so they stay. Also use them to strap down stuff on the pass seat. Also, don't see how you pick up bike from tip overs without them.

I use them to strap my duffel bag down.
If I had a choice, I would like to take them off, I might like the look.

Perfect location to put my 1 liter Costco water on each side between the hand hold and the seat for those scorching 110 degree plus summer rides in Az.

If I remember correctly, there are a couple of bolts inside the bags you need to remove to get them off. It's been a few years since I took mine off.

a very important reason for keeping them is they are used as grip points for picking up your bike if it tips over. not that ever had to use them 😙

I have used them to pickup the bike
I had the bike out side the garage door, I got a call for help from my son
I rolled the bike into the garage and the stand come up i didn't see it
I just layed the bike over

I use them to try packages to the seat
But most of all my wife uses them

I like them. They are great for attaching bungee cords or net to when the trunk is full or carrying an item that won't fit in the trunk (40 pound bag of dog food; bagpipe case; etc).

+1 It's the only real reason I keep them. I do not have a trunk, and the handles are the only place to secure things on the rear seat.

In South Carolina, and probably other states, it is the law for the passenger to have a grab
strap over the seat, or handles. Just my 2 cents.

Herb

According to my sources it's still illegal to give or receive oral sex in South Carolina!!!

So maybe there is a dumbazz law in SC about grab straps. But most "Grab Straps" wouldn't hold anyone. So even IF such a law exists, I am sure it is not enforced.

But then again, maybe no one in SC has oral sex either! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
