Well yesterday was the day. The cams went in my 2011 Vision. Took 3 of us about 4 hours, and that was taking our time and double checking our work. Twice. The quietest moment was just before my friend Dave hit the start switch. We knew everything was put back right. But there's always that little doubt that creeps into your head. Fired up right away (deep breath). Cool, it works. Tweeked the VFCIII a little and done. Drove home and parked it for the night. But the 10 minutes it took to get home was fun to say the least. I Didn't push it too hard right away, but I can tell there will be some fun riding this spring and summer. I thought after the timing wheel install I got a good boost. The cams take that to the next level. And the Atom bombs sound better as well. An added bonus. Who knew?

Any tips for those of us about to do this? How was getting to the rear cam?

I found the rear cam is the easiest to work with. It's the front one that space is at a premium. I say take all the space you can up front you'll need every mm.

I chased a CC this summer that had cams and when he wanted I was in the dust. For not that much money less then what harley guys pay you do get great horse power and you can do it your self. How great is that

Yeah, when Kevinx installed my cams he had me just sit and idle my bike at around 1500 rpm for 10 min. so the cams would get nice and hot, then he had me turn the bike off for an hour to let the cams cool, apparently a hardening process since the cams from the factory are not hardened.

The newest cams from Lloydz are cut from billet, and are hardened right out of the box. Cam break in is only required of cast cams

It really helps to have someone there who has done it before. The forward cam was the hardest. No room to work. We could'nt get the carrier out, so we had to take it appart in place to swap the cam out. The rear was done in about 20-30 min. The shop manual was helpful as well. There is a section on removing cams and the carriers, plus all the torques.
