I took the trunk off Anny until the ride to see the grandbabies and Sturgis. When I got done I took her for a ride. Some miles from home I hit the heel shifter and it didn't come back up. O.O I could shift with the toe shifter but it was way up in the air. I thought I lost the bolt but the bolt had broken. It's the link that connects to the trans shaft both splines look good. The dealer would have to order so I am going to grab a bolt for now and order 2 new bolts and a new linkage just to be on the safe side. Just one of those wierd things that happen to me.

that's odd. Go with a higher grade bolt, but don't torque it too much.

why would you go to dealer they never have what you need. Hardware stores care all size of metric bolts and even grade 8's. Sorry

Duh, have to know what size bolt it is first. Of course they didn't know.
Got 2 bolts at Ace last night. Shifts like new. Still ordering new parts from my dealer. They need business to stay open. Plus when you help them they help you. It's a lot cheaper to pay the dealer a little extra and get a speedometer repair receipt then pay a speeding ticket and higher insurance.
Of course you new that from the internet.....

When it comes to common hardware, always the hardware store. Sometimes the dealer might "throw" something small like that at you. I got a used ignition switch assembly from the dealer for a good deal. So there is somethings worth scrounging for. But it's good to know your bolt sizes and most is common hardware.

And why are you talking about speeding tickets and speedo repair? The Vision comes standard with the stealth module and mine has worked fine since days one. Occassionally, I've got the curiosity stop, you know the one that the officer just want's to admire the bike and your riding skills.

You say spend money at dealer so they can stay open.
Went to my dealer 4 miles a way and wanted the zip ties that are pushed into the handle bars. None in stock had to order. You ready for this $4.00 a peace. So what do you think that is a 1000 per cent mark up. Ace hardware here I come
