I have my 08 vision 1 week now.Took it out yesterday, put on 175 mi.Noticed when I shut it off, there would be what sounds like a whistling sound coming from the front of the engine, lasting
about 10 min. Also, later in the ride, the idle would occasionally rev up high, then slow down. This
was most noticeable when idling at a stop.
Has anyone experienced these things with their vision?
I posted this message last night, with only 1 reply from Bearcat, who thought the idle thing
could be an air leak.He never heard of the whistling sound.Anyone else experience these
quirks?

Try pulling your gas cap off when you hear the whistling and see if it stops, it may just be your fuel tank venting.

I agree on the Fuel Tank Cap try - 10 minutes is a long time to hear it unless something is under pressure and venting ever so slightly.

I have actually heard Batteries "Sing" or whistle when they get over charged, but I doub't that is happening. More like a pressure relief. But mine does not do that.

I do, however heard a mutiple click, click, click for about 3 seconds after turning off the bike. I assume it is the fuel pump shuting down but not sure. Will ask Service unless anyone knows what that sound is as well.

The bike has an IAC. Idel Air Control is a stepping motor that resets itsself each time you shut off the engine a couple of seconds after you turn the key off. This is the clicking sound and is normal.

My Kingpin would meow like a cat after shutting down and it would do this after a ride or even when the temperature changed. I haven't noticed my vision doing it, but if it was I wouldn't have thought twiceabout it. It wouldn't hurt to have the dealer listen to it next time your in.

Thanks for the Clicking Information. I was just going to start telling people that it has an Auto Re-Wind and was winding itself up for the next outing.
