John, out west where I live, the closest thing we have to "tar snacks", are "tar snakes" - and they taste terrible, especially when you trip over them and some of it gets in your mouth. If yours are 'snacks' then they must be made of eastern tar which maybe tastes better. Or, maybe you're just an 'easterner', and are wierd anyway.

I am ready to go to something other than the E3's. I have had two blowouts on the rear of the bike. Both were caused by separation of the tread from the casing.

Just a thought .... I am in the Pacific Northwest - climate is cool, roads are curvy, pavement is mostly very new/good - not many 'tar snacks'. So I have never had any beef about any of the tires on any of my 21 bikes. Maybe the problem is the Eastern climate, old concrete roads, tar snakes - oops, snacks, heated asphalt.

Seriously - I have NEVER had any beef on the stock tires of any of my bikes. Is it climate/old age roads/no curves ? Seems to me, those of you who are unhappy - maybe are from flat-land concrete freeway riding? Just a thought ....

I had seen tar snakes before, but didn't know what they could do for your ride until a hot day last summer riding into Hell, MI. Rounded a curve on a bunch of them, it was not a good feeling having my front tire sliding across tar and catching traction every few inches in between.
The road to Hell is paved with tar snakes and loose gravel!

Tar Snacks, I just caught that. That's a good way to put it because that's all they've ever been to me... Oh the drama, oh the tragedies. What will we ever do??? While we are lamenting our inferior products and flaunting our superior knowledge, let's see a show of hands of those who has taken a certified motorcycle safety course, lately.

April 7th at the local community college. Been riding for over 35 years and this was the first "formal" instruction I'd ever had on a motorcycle. LOVED IT!

What about pork? Chicken? Fish? Personally try to keep food items off my tires!
