I need y'all's help. I pocked my bike up from the dealer yesterday for some warranty work (turn signal switch, clutch check #2- parts ordered, and 2nd stereo unit replacement). I was detailing it last night after 200 mile ride yesterday (stupid love bugs!), and it seems to me like there is a piece missing under the headlight.

I don't have any prework pics of the headlight. It just seems 'unfinished' or like something's missing there. Is it me, or did I lose a piece there somehow.....?

No really.... it felt like the edge was too rough when I was wiping it down, and it has an 'unfinished' feel to it. I never noticed it before.

Stereo problems: First time, I had all of the problems with the unit that you described (display went blank, light wouldn't go out, drained battery, unit wouldn't come on or navigate) So, they replaced the unit in the dash. Next, the handlebar controls went out. I would go to change the volume through the handlebar, and the station would change, or go to change the stereo volume lower, and it would change the CB volume lower (and the CB volume is a major PITA to get to from the main control screen!! to readjust. This was a big problem on our raod trip this summer). Then, we went over RR tracks on our cross country trip, and with the bump, the volume went SKY HIGH on the headset, the CB wouldn't transmit or recieve. Thankfully, at the time, I was listening to MP3s through my Garmin, and I got the volume down through the GPS unit, but hubby was taking off on his bike, and I couldn't transmit to him that I was having problems. (He doesn't look in his rearview mirror very often to see if I'm there). I pulled off when I found a spot on the shoulder wide enought to get out of trqaffic safely, and , eventually, turned the bike off and back on, and it fixed the problem. By that time, hubby was out of range. So, this time, they replaced the handlebar controls, too.

My auto cancelling turn signal switch stopped working. Signals would not canel at all on their own, and the left turn signal would get stuck on. I had to work to get it turned off (the right would turn off with just a soft depression of the button) My clutch has been clunking and sticking in Neutral, after getting caught in HORRIBLE rush hour traffic in Chicago, in 100 degree heat. They took it apart and examined it (I wa scared that the plates were warped), and couldn't find anything initially. I picked it up last week, and rode it, and it still did it (Sux to get stuck in N when downshifting from 2->1 for a turn....) So, they looked at it again, and figured out it was a ratcheting thing--ma-bobby (Sorry, can't remember the exact part they told me). It's on order and should be in next week.

Meanwhile,  I noticed yesterday that I blew a highbeam bulb. Did you all know that you need to remove the airfilter to change the headlight bulb?! I tell you, the way to work on these bikes is messed up.... I was going to put the luggage rack on, but you basically have to disassemble the whole truck to do it, rather than just remove the cover!

There's two ways to add pics. To use both, you must choose the "Reply" button, either on the very top of the page, or in the upper right corner of the individual post.The way I do it, is through HTML (after uploading them to my photobucket account).  When you type, there is a button, 3rd from the right in the 2nd row down, that says "HTML". When you click this, a pop up window will come up, where you can edit the HTML source, and embed the pic. When you're done adding the HTML, click updat, and you should then see the window close, and the pic will show up, if you're HTML is correct.

Or, you can check the box under the post "Attach a file after posting", right under the box you are typing in, and it will allow you to add files directly from your computer. I forget if it will let you add more than one file or not.....
