I sometimes call my bike "Chandra" because it is shaped like a girl at work, big headlights, small midsection, and big round rear. Other times I call it the "Two Wheeled Cadillac". What ever name I give my Vision is always refers to something I like to ride.

I just got done running the heck out of my Vision on a 7 day, 3400 mile trip. I covered the last 1500 miles in 36 hours.  Unbelievably flawless and comfortable.  During the trip I decided to name my bike after the most dominant athlete in history....Secretariat.

He wore a big old turban wrapped around his head, a scimitar by his side,
And every evening about midnight he'd jump on his camel named clyde ... and ride (ray stevens)

LOL! Ahab the Arab! You gotta use a backhoe to dig deep enough in the grey matter to find stuff like that.

We use to sing cadence about Clyde at Fort Bragg.

  • Ahab had a camel name Clyde
  • No one knew how the poor boy died

Well, my Vision is actually CLYDE II
Clyde One lasted from 1980 thru 1997 (Was still running strong when I had to sell him when I moved to Florida - until 9/11 when that event forced me back to Canada) so I figure Clyde II will outlast me. And I find myself calling my wife 'Fatima' from time to time, even though she is Japanese and weighs 96 lbs.....

OH, and here is the full lyrics for Ray Stevens song....

Let me tell you 'bout Ahab the arab, the sheik of the burning sand,
He had emeralds and rubies just a-dripping off-a-him and a ring on every
finger of his hand.
He wore a big old turban wrapped around his head, a scimitar by his side
And every evening about midnight he'd jump on his camel named Clyde.
And ride silently through the night to the sultan's tent
Where he would secretly meet up with Fatima of the seven veils.
She was the swingin'est number one dancer in the sultan's whole harem.
It was like him and her they had a little adam going, you see,
Behind the old bugger's back.
And you could hear him talking to his camel
And as he rode out across the dunes past the oil wells
His voice would cut through the still night desert air
And he'd say, "maaaaaaa oyy oyy oyy !!!"
Which is arabic for "oh, baby ..."
And Clyde would say, "yewrah raaaoww uh uh uh uh uh!"

Well, he brought his camel to a screeching halt at the rear of Fatima's tent,
Jumped off Clyde, snuck around the corner and into the tent he went.
There he saw Fatima laying on a, on a zebra skin rug,
With rings on her fingers, bells on her toes and a bone in her nose, eeeeyye.

There she was friends and neighbors, laying there in all her radiant beauty,
She was eating on a raisin, had a grape, and an apricot, and a pomegranate,
A bowl of chitterlings, two bananas, three hershey bars, four burritos,
Sipping on a frozen margarita, listening to a transistor radio,
Watching the grand ole opry, reading rolling stone magazine and singing rocky
mountain high.
And Ahab walked up to her and he said, "yeeeiiaaaahowowhidehowdihi!"
Which is arabic for, "let's boogie again like we did last summer, baby."
And she said, "oh, Ahab, ah ha uh, Ahab." "crazy, baby."

And that's the story about Ahab the arab, the sheik of the burning sand,
He had emeralds and rubies just a-dripping off-a-him and a ring on every
finger of his hand.
He wore a big old turban wrapped around his head, a scimitar by his side,
And every evening about midnight he'd jump on his camel named Clyde ...

AND RIDE !!!!

Thanks for the lyrics Don! Could it possibly be that today the weather in Vancouver is not suited for riding our favorite 2 wheel mode of transportation? That had to take quite a while to type!!!

Thanks again!

Uh-uh. I rode an hour to my Victory dealer to get the re-flash recall done. My dealer is right beside a BIG Harley dealership, and it was fun watching all the Harley guys coming our way to admire my Vision!
Sorry to disappoint, Spaceman, ever heard of 'copy and paste'?
Good weather tomorrow - off for a LONG ride..... (on CLYDE)
