Hey All,

I just got word from my dealer....My new vision has been shipped and the parts are on order.....Hurrraaaaaa!!!

I have a quick question. From looking hear on the forum at other posts I have the idea that connectiong the IPOD cable is the same as connecting the MP3 cable, just a matter of which you decide to connect. Is it true that the connection to the bike is the same for both cables?

Thanks
Gerry

The standard MP3 cable is installed on the bike when it is built. It is up to you to get an Ipod cable and have installed or installed if you wish, which replaces the MP3 cable.
Also, congrats on the new one coming your way.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it is possible to have both installed?

And thanks for the "congrats" I can't wait as I look at the large snow flakes falling outside my window....

It is possible but I have not heard of anyone splicing the cables together yet. I used to think of doing this....before I bought a cheap 3 Gen iPod nano from a Pawn Shop.

Now that I have an iPod and can command it from the control cubes, I do not think about splicing the cable any more.

I picked mine up on the 12th of Feb, and put 1200 miles on the first weekend. Loving it!! Just ordered a backrest from "www.utopia.com"

Sorry, back to your question. ;-) I don't think you can hook up 2 cables at a time. I recommend going with the IPOD power cable, because it inables you to play and program your playlist from the handlebar controls or the controls on the console. You won't be able to do that with the simple aux. cord.

Happy ridin!

I was going to splice the cable just so I could switch between my Creative Labs MP3 Player and my iPod without changing the cables. I never thought of running them both at the same time.

I was also thinking that with the help of a small mixer I could use that input for some Ham Radio applications. In the end I think I am going to use the GPS audio input since it will mute the music when I receive a call on my Ham Radio gear.
