As I get ready for spring riding here in Maine, I have installed the chrome rear tip over covers. This makes all of my gray items chrome except for my passenger rails. Has anyone found chrome ones or have had theirs chromed??????????

We covered this topic a few months ago. Unfortunately your grab handles are plastic not metal therefore they cannot be chromed.
The options you have are
1. leave as is
2. remove and powercoat paint another color
3. order the Ness grab handles in gloss black
4. remove them totally and order the Ness handle removal cover kit.

chroming plastic chemically does not work. You could experiment with a "chrome finish paint", but the finish will not be smooth and glossy, it will still resemble a spray painted effect.
hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I was the one who started the old thread a year ago. I was hoping that some one had come up with a chrome part since then.

Paint them the same color as your bike and they will seem to disappear.

You can get plastic 'chromed'. It is a different process to be sure but just as bright and just a durable. I have had many plastic pieces chromed for cars that I have restored - dash parts, radio knobs just about anything - there is a lot of plastic 'chrome' on '60s and '70s cars. There are several local shops that do the work for me - or just do a search on the web for 'chrome plastic' and you will find dozens of places willing to chrome plastic items for you. Good Luck!

Oh - BTW I had mine painted midnight cherry to match the bike. And as Kenandpen said they really blend in well with the body and the lines.....

Where did you get the paint? I know that Vic has the small touch up tubes.

As I said before Advanced Plating in Nashville does show quality chroming including plastic. Just depends if that's what you want to pay for? I have had work done there and I like their work.

Hey Blue, did you have your handles done by them? and if so, what did they charge you, what was the turn around time.?
I have not been successful finding anyone locally that i felt comfortable chrome painting my grab handles.

thanks, im sure several of us would appreciate the info.

The paint came from Midwest Industrial Coating - purchased through my local dealer. I got a quart and had the grab handles, calipers, forks and rotors painted..... Looks pretty good....
