The May issue of ROADBIKE magazine has an "American Adventure Tour Test" of a 2009
VISION entitled "Visions of Distinction." Unlike recent magazine tests of the HAMMER that
were fairly negative, this one has nothing but good things to say about the VISION. There's
even a sidebar praising the Arlen Ness custom take on the VISION.

Here's one sentence from the review that all of us VISION riders can relate to: "As wild as
the Victory Vision looks, and as well as it performs, it kept growing on me to the point I
really didn't want the ride to end."

Amen to that.

You know I had my hands really full last year when I picked up my Vision. I really had to keep reminding myself I had anticipated bugs, and boy I think my bike got them all. With that said I have seen a few posts here that I'm glad I have not experienced. Even with all the bugs I've thoroughly enjoyed riding this bike from the first. So for once I agree with the mag.
If Victory was to do one thing to change/improve upon the Vision I'd ask that it be the maintenance schedule. This bike has more maintenance requirements than any three bikes should have and they are all low mileage. Oil, forks, belts..... they must have figured folks buying Visions would be polishing and not riding. Maybe Victory will see from the RIDERS posts on this forum that we ride instead and address these requirements so we can enjoy more saddle time before being rudely interupted by the need to service, lol....

Opposite of my experience, Teach. Maybe it's your dealership? I have not had ONE thing go wrong as I approach the end of my first year of ownership. Yah - the radio thing, but who gives a crap about that? I use CD player mostly - and radio controls on console work just fine. My dealer is going to fix the thing next week when I get my next service - the last repair under warranty, I think. I am about 99% sure I will not need to purchase additional warranty - my thread on this returned only a few complaints - not worth the $1,400CDN they want for coverage. My machine has never given me anything BUT enjoyment. And I give my machine the service Victory asks. Fair deal.

I have to concur with Donetracey, i have a 08 street premium loaded, and i have had ZERO mechanical, structural, electrical issues with the bike at all. Aside from my chrome fixation, gas, and a new Ipod, the only part of that 8000.00 ive added to the bike that wasnt
bling and toys were gas and an oil change. Makes me wonder if there was just a bad batch that came out and they have gotten beyond it now. You dont hear any of the new owners having issues.... would be a curious poll/post.

I don't want to start a Vision defect debate guys nor was that the "meaning behind" what I posted. Read what I wrote without becoming defensive this time. With that said here is a recommendation if your warranty is about to run out. First off inspect your windshield really close by the bolt holes. Next look at the headlite assy both upper sides and upper edge. Any lines you see running up and down are cracks so get it replaced. Next ask your dealer to replace the radio handlebar control, it is defective, all of the 08's are. Victory has a NEW and improved replacement, but they only replace it if you report a defect. Those are not MAJOR issues but they will cost you more than $1500 US bucks just in parts. The labor a tad more. Then there is the upper shock bushings that needed replaced along with some other mechanical stuff. Like yourself I had NO intention to buy the extended warranty but the first 12k convinced me that it was a good idea. If nothing else it is $600 well spent for 4 more years peace of mind. I hope your future issues are as absent as the first year. Like I said earlier, I love this bike even with the bugs its had. The more I ride it, the more I enjoy it.

With 38K and 17 months on the road this bike only gets better. It still has the occassional popping and hope to do a shakedown soon to see if I can rectify it. No problems with the controls or other issues others has mentioned with the '08's but I'm sure doomsday is coming when it will just unfold all over the hightway...

Chris, lol.... thats what I hear, lol. Rumor has it that at 40k the osama bomb placed inside each motor goes off, lol...I agree with you my friend it gets better with every mile. Just got it inspected today (at the BigDog Dealer to tease), picked up some oil and stuff to maintain it and the snow started flying. Guess I'll ride when the roads get cleared.
