Well I was fortold of the engine noise on the Vision before I bought it. I was also aware of the fact that it would quiet down after some miles. So I guess I tried to ignore a sound heard usually accelerating starting at around 2800 rpm. When I first drove away from the dealer and heard this sound I thought 'this is some sort of sympathetic vibration.' But after awhile it sounded like valves or lifters. It started getting worse and I knew I either had a problem or it was vibration.
I found the source. It was a vibration between the console and instrument console . I was able to get 90% of it gone by just shifting the position of the fit but will place some sort of damping agent between those parts when I fit the GPS.
As far as noise now----nothing at all to be concirned about.

Walt, mine did the same thing last year, I think I posted about it here. On the left side of the instrument cover where it meets the console I put a little piece of foam with double sided 3M tape to hold it. NO more noise.
