Has anyone installed this on their vision? If so,any tips on cutting the upper rear fender panel
for the backrest to fit. If you don't have access to a dremel tool, how about a jigsaw or by hand using a coping saw.

I actually used a coping saw to cut the rear trunk panel. Just put the template on the underside, acording to the directions and cut slowly. The coping saw cuts nice through the plastic
panel. Hope this helps.

I used a small hack saw and took a lot of work but was doable. Hope this helps.

I would recommend using masking tape on the rear top of the panel as well as the template that's included for the bottom if I were using a saw. That should help elminate any chipping. The rubber grommets that come with the kit should pretty much hide the rest.

thanks! Do you think there is a PDF of the template online anywhere? I purchased a used backrest off craigslist and it did not come with template. Any suggestions where I could get one on line?

I used a bandsaw to cut mine and it worked great. I had good control and never had to worry about the tool catching or jumping around. The first thing I did is to cover the entire painted surface with painters tape. This way the paint would not be scratched by the bandsaw table. I then taped the template to the underside as described in the instuctions. Then I drilled 2 holes at the bottom of each notch so I could make the turn with the band saw. (use a brad point bit so it does not walk) Put the piece on the bandsaw and connect the dots. Remove the tape and template then install the rubber inserts. The process worked great for me..........took about 15 minutes, no chipped or scratched paint, and perfectly cut notches.

dremel best choice thats even what my dealership uses and used on mine, it looks clean and OEM finish. You also have really precise control over the cut. btw the backrest performs outstandingly, and i love the way it makes my sstreet premium look on its profile. esp with the rack behind it.
