I bought a Vision Street because it was the last thing on the showroom floor. My wife wanted the tour pack for her comfort, no problem. But now I need to carry two keys in order to lock the tour pack and the saddlebags (and ignition).

Is there a way to get the two keyed the same? Can I call Victory with a code or something and have them send a new lock for the tour pack?

my dealer just had a local locksmith rekey the trunk.

My dealer did not.

If you have any luck getting that changed, please let me know and I'll try the same trick with my guy. I've already sent about a half dozen requests for assistance to Polaris. Might as well have shoved them up my own a$$, for all the reply I got.

I just keep the trunk key in the ipod box. That is risky, as I can not tell you how many times I've gotten home to find the key still in the lock. (Hey, dealerman! That's why they designed the Tour to have one key in the first place, you moron!)

Alternative is to pay the locksmith yourself, an option I am more and more tempted to exercise, as the two-key thing just gets me pi$$ed off all over again every time I have to go fishing for that damned thing with my big Polish ham fists. I don't ride to GET PO'd... but the contrary.

One thing to NOT do is put the two on the same chain. I have a little circle scratched all around my ignition. I try to pass it off as a customization.... not well.

I don't see how it's Victory's fault when you bought a Street and bought a trunk as an accessory?

I don't know if this will work with a Vision but years ago my brother had 2 Ford F-150 pickup trucks. I had a key made for him that had the ignition/doors for 1 truck cut on one side and the other truck on the other side. This way 1 key worked for both trucks. Our keys are 2 sided keys too so it might work.

I made it part of the deal when I bought the bike cause I bought the trunk at the same time...they had to take the trunk apart to get the mechanism out..glad they did it and not me..

What I bought was a Tour. I wanted a tour and the dealer put "Tour" on the bill of sale. What he HAD was a Street and he said the trunk could be ordered and put on later that week.

How, exactly was I supposed to predict that he would cheap out on me like that? Worse, when I pointed out that this sucked, he told me there was nothing he would do to fix it. No fix, no discount on future purchases, no "sorry". It was candid indifference at best, beligerence at worst. Trust me... this sort crap is like a sliver in your finger. It does not go away by itself. I'd buy another Vision in about two heartbeats... I'd travel 4 hours to find a different dealer.

I agree with you - I would be hard pressed to go back to them for anything!

Order a lock set for a Vision.

They come with one key for everything, have your dealer change them out, and then sell each of your locks and keys on Ebay.

Problem solved...no more gripes.

I didn't even know there was a dealer in Goldsboro TB. The problem I see with most "Victory" dealers is that they have other products as well, and they're going to give emphasis to what makes them the money.

One of the best known Victory Dealers on the east coast, Winchester Motosports dropped the Victory line, but will still work on them. They sell Triumphs and Moto Guzzis. The next closest Victory Dealer is in Berkely, WV (that's West Virginia for you Canucks) at RiderVille. However, they are really a Polaris dealer that carries Victorys. Such is our dilemna. I have a pure Victory Dealer so they can focus on Victorys only but those are very rare.

I'd go smitty's route, when I could and be done with it. You can change all the locks yourself.

Check with a local locksmith, you should be able to take out the lock and have them change the tumblers to match the ignition I've done this to many street rods, no reason it shouldn't work on the Vision...
