Hibbing, MN | does any one know why the service manual recomends the use of new rotor bolts after removel of the front brake rotors? does 22ft-lbs. stretch the bolts to the point where you would need new ones, or is it something to do with the lock-tite on the threads? Thanks. |

| It is not just the vic's it is most models of bikes and you could use the old ones but why take a chance for a few dollars

Ruskin, Fl | After I had my tires replaced and rims powder coated, all the bolts on left side front rotor backed out. Chewed up the inside of the lower fork leg and bent two bolts. Not sure if the dealer ever tightened them, but there was no thread lock on them. I went to the parts store and bought two new bolts and thread lock to get home. I hate to think of what could have happened if the wheel locked up on me. Even though the right side bolts were all tight, I made the dealer replace all 12. The new bolts come pre-coated with thread lock, I believe. |
