Hey guys....don't hate on me cause I own a Honda.....although it is a pretty hot bike. I just joined as I am selling my VTX1800 to get me a Vision. What a sweet bike and I can not wait. Joined to learn what I can about them until I sell my bike now. Damn....getting goose bumps thinkin about it.....xmas present to myself and since I live in Florida I ride about 10 or 11 months of the year.
Look forward to many miles on my new bike !!
Ride safe all !!

It won't take long too wonder why you ever liked the VTX after you own a Vision. The only thing I miss about my VTX is the torque. I rode the X once after I got the Vision and the X felt like an old log truck. Ride safe.

Sold my X on E-bay. A guy from Arizona bought it and had it shipped. Good luck.

You'll easily ride 12 months a year in FL.  The lower wind deflectors will be nice during the summer heat.  Good luck selling the VTX.

Didn't have a VTX but I rode Harley's for many years and my last one was an "Ultra." I gotta tell ya, my 2008 Vision does -everything- better than the Ultra did. Power, handling, comfort. I sold the Ultra and have had absolutely no regrets. You will hear this from every owner, "I love my Vision!"

Happy Holidays!

So are you buying a Vision to do more touring? I think you will be happy. I still own my '99 Vic and have 16,000 miles on my 10th Anny Vision.
Which color and options are you going for? When I do need to use reverse I love it.

You will need to change your user name from VTX-Man - I once saw some of the Vision brothers string up and hang a fellow that used another brand in his name - Welcome -get that Vision!

Welcome VTX-Man!

The Vision is a great bike. I love my 2008. I was pondering a Wing and Ultra before my purchase, but I am so glad I decided on the Vision. For some reason I couldn't leave the Victory shop the first time I saw the Vision without leaving a deposit for one. I have absolutely no regrets. I have done absolutely nothing to the motor. It is bone stock with original spark plugs and it hasn't missed a beat in 15k miles. The temps are in the teens and I'm still riding 30 minutes to work everyday. The comfort and year-round rideability is awesome.

As good as the Vision is there are few glitches with it. Nothing big, just annoyances like small rattles, hot air on legs, substandard radio quality, and a few more. Most of these can be remedied easily at home with fixes found in this forum. There is usually more than one fix for a glitch posted here. The folks posting in this forum have contributed a wealth of information about the Vision. Some of these glitches may be resolved on the 2010.

IMO the must-haves are:
Lower air deflectors
Heated seat
Heat grips
(These should lengthen your riding season to 12 months in Florida. Plus, in the spring and fall when it chills off after the sun goes down you won't have to stop to put a jacket on.)

Again, welcome and hope you enjoy your ride as much as I do.

VTX-MAN, where in Florida are you located? I'm in Jacksonville. If'n you're close enough, maybe we can ride sometime.

VTX-Man welcome to the forum and thanks for the word on the Find It Now security. That sounds like something I would go with. If you like to ride, the Vision is the ride. There is no better sensation for riding than on a Victory Vision, I'm convinced of that. You might a have target for a particular type of riding, but if you like to be in the saddle all day long and not feel like you've been beaten, it is unmatched. Of course it looks cool too and is a head turner where ever you go. I like the Street config, but I've really come to like the Touring config, I think it's because I have to tote my computer around.

Best to you on your new ride as well....

You won't miss the X. I had an 1800F and there is no comparison as far as comfort. Hands down the Vision is the most comfortable touring bike available.

No matter what bike you got or the accessories NOBODY rides during Love Bug season in FL. The thought that runs through your mine when a pair fly in your mouth...... What were they doing? I also hated the really hot days down there. Hey, if you like it enjoy it just not my cup of tea.
I think if I was going to move to a warm climate when I retire I would move to East of the mountains in S. Cali. I really liked CA when I rode out there especially LA. Now all the FL riders are saying I'm nuts. ) San Diego I did not care for as much as LA. But a few hours North and a cute little place called Bridgeport to go fishing and lay in the hot springs.
Sorry rambling...

Welcome... I traded my 1300S for the Vision and wouldn't go back. Having said that, there are a couple of "little things" I miss about the X. One is being able to pull up to the gas pump, and just fill it, without having to worry about hanging up the nozzle and such. The aftermarket stuff might be another, not so much chrome stuff, but like K&N Air Filters and some other things. I will say that I miss the Honda dealers network. It is definitely easier to find a Honda dealer wherever you go. But again, I wouldn't go back. I love my Vision.

Looks like I'll have to change my name too, don't want to be lynched. I picked up Vision couple of weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. Ready for 500 mi. oil change. I still have my VTX1800 (43000 mi.), just can't give up that power! My wife really likes the Vision much better so that is our "together" ride. I'm also in Fl. near Daytona, rode yesterday in the 50's, wasn't even chilly!

rider..I here ya...I have to use a full face helmet every May 7 September along with a damp rag to wipe it as i am cruising. It is terrible.
Coolhand luke...I am in the Clearwater, Florida area....I ride up to Daytona...of course..Bike Week and Biketoberfest, etc...also up into St Augustine.....Bike Week will be here before we know it and I will have my new bike by then.
And Victoryvisiontour..thyanks for th input. I spoke to someone out in Vegas that has a 09 and blew it up the first month...not sure of the details but they took it back to Arlen Ness...got a new upgraded motor and its been great ever since from what I understand. They spoke very highly of Arlen Ness and thety took good care of them...thats what matters the most.
Thanks for the comments all and hope to be part of the Vision crowd soon !!

I still own my Suzuki M109, which arguably is in direct competition with the VTX1800. Very similar bikes. I like to take her out when I am going around town alone. But if I am going any sort of distance, or if the wife is with me, the Vision is the clear choice.

When I was shopping, I rode everything in the class (Goldwing,Ultra, Voyager, etc...) and the VV was an easy choice after riding all of them. Comfort, style, handling... nothing better than the Vision.

Happy riding!
