No code needed at all. When it comes to automotive and/or motorcycle paint black is black is black is black, no variation such as "light black" or "dark black" or "midwest midnight black".........unless its a Volvo the only difference is black or black metallic.

If you brought parts to me an wanted them painted black and gave me a paint code I'd have a subtle giggle inside of me and then I would "thank" you for the code. Or I may "inform" you that there really isn't a code for black. But when you leave my office I would toss the code you gave me and then have my painter....paint them black

I have 25+ years in the auto collision industry...so you can trust me on this

And yes...a car manufacturer once called thier black paint...midwest midnight black

lotzafun i am sorry but in my field semi trucks there is more then one black and white. i would go off of code. i know where i am we have 2 different paint brands in shop and different types in the brands and none of them match when you paint them all the same color. and dupont reps. even told us they dont match eachother.

I did my 08 in black and the painter said gloss black is black. It matched perfectly.
