Meadow, Texas | Just got word today that my new 2010 Vision is at the dealer. Have to wait a day or until my credit union does the finance paperwork but Melinda at Victory of Southern Maryland sent me a couple of pics and it is great. They had just got it out of the box and still need to do the basic setup before I take posession but the long wait is over.
But since I am a new owner, are there anything special I need to check for. I'm having a heel-toe shifter installed and for the start- that is all. But plan on other things in the near future. Only items that will make riding easier, like the extensions for the passenger floorboards. The wife sat on one while I was on it and checked out the passengers seat, and realized she needed another inch for the boards.
Can't wait until I get the paperwork finished and I can ride. This weekend might not be the best weather forecasted but no snow or ice - so looks like I can test out the heated seat and grips.
But again, any suggestions I need about picking up my new Vision. And by the way, I got the Pearl White.
Been on this board for a little while picking up information about the Visions and I want to thank everyone. Great board and very helpful.

Memphis | My first move was to take it out and rack up the 500 break-in miles as fast as possible so I could get the oil changed and really wring it out. I was back at the dealer two days later for the oil change. Knowing what I know now, I would find a parking lot as soon as I left the dealer and spend about 30 minutes getting really tuned into it at slow speeds The linked brake system works great but you want to find out what it feels like to push the rear brake pedal and feel the fronts start to grab. Practice panic stops. Slow speed figure eights. Back it out of a tight spot. This is a really big bike and odds are you will drop it in a parking lot. Once you get it under way it is really fun and easy. The first 30 minutes in 1st and 2nd gear isn't a very glamorous answer but you will feel a lot more confident, especially once your wife climbs onboard. You're gonna love it.

Prescott Valley, AZ | Gotta agree with SongFan!! This Friday marks my two year anniversary with my Vision and I have more than enjoy each and every one of the 21,000 plus miles!!!! There are a ton of things you can do to your bike and even more that you can do with it!! Do whatever you think looks good and makes it fit you, You've got an EXCELENT platform to start from and you will find it to be way more than you thought it would be! |

Litchfield Park, AZ | Just a couple items:
1-BE CAREFUL of the rear tipover protection. It can be dangerous and extremely painful the first (and only) time you get your leg caught under there. Do NOT "walk" your feet at takeoff.
2-Get the lower wind deflectors....you'll come to love them in both hot and cold weather.
3-As Songfan stated, spend some time in the parking lot.....and when you are making slow speed maneuvers please do not touch the front brake. |

Meadow, Texas | phoenix9 - I found out about the rear tip-overs on my demo ride. On my second demo - I didn't have any problems - or just got lucky.
I will have to get used to the linked braking system, felt a little odd on my rides.
Also plan to spend most of Saturday in this nice open parking lot doing the "Ride like a Pro" process.
But thanks to all and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Belding Michigan | One other thing wear Boots even if you don't normally. the right side pipe even though it is a heat sheild gets very very very hot and if you let your leg sdie back on a slow roll in a parking lot you can/will burn your leg on the inside or your right calf. You may see the scar on my leg if you would like a reference. Archie |

LaPorte,Tx. | Congrats on the new Pearl White Vision. Take some time to read the owners manual so you have a good idea of what all the gadgets do and how to adjust your bike to your personal needs. Headlight adjustment maybe one of the first adjustment you will have to make, I know I did. Getting a service manual during the first few months of ownership is good if you like to really know how to work on the bike. Enjoy your new ride. |

I picked mine up Nov. 13th and rode it home 26 miles in the rain.
I have only had a chance to put 115 miles on it so far but what a GREAT ride it is.
I do miss the heal toe shifter that my old bike had but plan to add that before spring.
Everyone has offered the same advise I would off so get out there and enjoy that new bike. |
