This may not be the right forum for this but I thought I would post it anyhow. Recently I've read many posts about how the tip overs have helped saved the legs of riders, etc.

At times I've read other fit and finish issues (left rear bag door, etc).

Anyhow, I love my vision, I don't think I got a lemon and I've never had a major recall on it. I hope Victory continues putting quality machines together.

personally I think that is assinine, it has to be a government thing as how do you prevent frontend distortion in a head-on crash? No wonder we get things manufactured elsewhere because the expense of trying to keep complient and paying the wages so people can live... I'm am sorry to hear that is happening to HD on this...

This is an absolute outrage!

Motorcycles should be required to leak; anyone who's seen the movie "The Outlaw Josey Wales" knows that cauterization is the fastest way to stop bleeding!

I carry a flint and steel in my pocket for just such an occasion, in the event that the fuel refuses to ignite on the head pipes "spark-key" comes to the rescue.

It all started with "Safety" razors! Thats what ruined this country, heck a guy can't even find a decent styptic pencil anymore.

The next thing you know Americans will start drinking cappuccinos, and then................. "Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!".

In the 80's HD lost a law suit when a DRUNK ran head on into an RV while in the wrong lane of a mountain road. Kind of a buzz kill if your HD

What U.S. and Canada need is a mass recall of the ASSHOLES who think this crap up.

I'm liking the idea....I can see the headline "GOVERNMENT ASSHOLES RECALLED FOR BEING IDIOTS"

We had one in our elected Parliament a couple of years after Seatbelts became compulsary - the IDIOT proposed a bill that would make seatbelts manditory on motorcycles.
Maybe we gotta stop electing idiots - but in my lifetime, I have observed that they gravitate to Government - seems they fit in well.
This HD recall is scary. What next - ban motorcycles because they can tip over in an accident? Except Visions, of course....

Was reading about this a week or so ago. It is nice to know that a manufacturer doesn't need to wait on fixing a problem until someone is hurt. Better that they have come up with a fix and initiated evrything themselves.
I think if you are in this type of collision the tank leaking will be the least of your concerns, lol....

Right, Teach. Just add on another 2 pound piece of metal bracing to what is already big heavy pig and that will solve that. Sure - more "Detroit Iron" - isn't that what nearly wiped out the US auto industry??? My Co-Pilots 'Smart' car is safer than ANYTHING out of Detroit 20 years ago - and safer than most of todays small cars. NOT because it is built like a TANK - but built with thought, and courage - something the politicians are missing.

Glad to see HD is taking care of this for the owners. I would not want to be in flames after an accident when an easy fix could have made difference.
The GW had the cracked frames from 2002 to 2004 before Honda stepped up to bat. Poor BobnPhred ended up with one. From what I have seen it was either a bad setup on the welding robot and/or bad inspection. Either way, poor quality control.
Of course how many recalls has Toyota had in the last few years? I think they started slamming out cars and trucks to just get ahead of GM in the world market. How many years does the 150% trade in for the pickups with the rusted frames cover?

New Government Regulations and Rules for Motorcyclists beginning 2010
1. Underwear must be worn at all times.
2. All motorcycles will only be allowed to carry one person. In the event of accident this cuts the injury rate 50%.
3. Training wheels must be installed on all bikes owned by newly licensed motorcyclists, esp women.
4. No electronics pertaining to music or entertainment will be allowed on motorcycles to curb potential distraction while driving.
5. Motorcycles may only be used on clear sunny days where ambient temperature is over 62 degrees.

,,,,,,, rules rules rules........laws laws laws,,,,,,,,,,,, the death of common sense.

1. can I wear underwear only....?
2. I'm working on a solo seat to be in compliance...
3. totally agree...
4. entertainment, that rules out riding altogether for me, as all the cool lights and gages are a source of entertainment, to include the digital thermometer...
5. bah...you're just a harleysheepwannabebikerrubcoatandtieestablishmentkindaguy. I rode today in 40 degree freezing rain in protest of your silly and nonsensical law!!!!!!!
