Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | I'm not one to be easily outdone, so I made a set of winter tires for the Vision. I going for a ride after I get them mounted tonight.

North Orange County CA | VVT: Anyone who rides with you is gonna need to order the "Pure Polaris Extra Big and Tall 3/4" Laminated Lexan Combat Shield" or have enough extra to be sure that they never see your tail-lights.

| varyder.....I don't know how you do it...it was 45 this morning when I headed out the door on my bike......burrrrr......I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you had the right gear but damn.......I also left a message for you on your post about Find It Now GPS Tracking Device.....I just got an email and they are cheaper now......if i would have waited 30 days I could have saved some $$$$$$....just thought i would let you know.....ride safe in that frozen ass tundra you ride in......lol |

Belding Michigan | You know I thought I was the only crazy person on this site but you have got me beat. I took the same sort of ride in 1973 with a brand new 72 650 Yamaha in Omaha Nebraska. It was cold but seemed alright now 37 years later i realize that I was too young and dumb to know I could get hurt. I will go out ot the grarage and pet the bike and continue talking to myself about the summer to come as I am not going for a ride no I am not no matter what the vioices in my head say . Archie |

New Bohemia, VA | just for the record...I rode yesterday to work at around noon, but then came home around 5pm to get the car to go back out. I'm concerned with the black ice and the chemicals they have put on the road that makes it slick. I DID NOT RIDE at all today as I had to leave early and come back home late. I am trying to keep my sanity through all of this as I'm down to riding the Vision or taking the wife unit's cage, and she works also. I just got to remember not to ride faster than my angels can fly... |

New Bohemia, VA | people are reviewing the video like crazy, I don't think it will go viral, but a lot of views are coming from that silly site called VOGNET. The reason I referred to them as that is 1) I'll never be a member, and 2) I lurked over there because of the referral link and some of the most unkind things are being said. I sware it is a bunch of still wannabee harley riders pretending to be victory riders. what is up with people that don't understand a circumstance to bash, such a harley mentaility. I'm just about done with all this forum crap anyways. later. |

I read the comments on thevog as well and have to say that I was a little taken aback by some of the vehemence. I spent 30 years in Tennessee and for the first eight did not own a car. I rode regardless of weather and road conditions because I had to in order to keep my job. I didn't see this as irresponsible then and I don't now.
I see my wife's failure to keep her gas tank full and a case of water in her trunk as a much more irresponsible behavior that riding in the snow, given that we live in a desert area that also happens to be earthquake prone. I view guys riding in shorts and flip-flops as more irresponsible and I see that almost every day.
I have nothing but respect for you and I hope that you know my motivational poster and gentle ribbing were all done out of respect for the way that you live your life and your riding skills.
One of the oldest motorcycle runs is the famous Elephant Rally named after Hannibal's crossing of the Alps in winter with his war elephants. The conditions under which these guys travel is even more extreme than what we saw on this video and is their behavior is hailed as an achievement not viewed as insanity. If the rest of you haven't followed the link then I suggest that you google it you can find some pretty amazing photos of a lot of very hardcore bikers.
Chris, keep on doing what you do, the rest of us will just wish that we still had the balls, no matter what yours are made of. |

Chris, I recall once riding my dirt/street bike up Mount Seymour here in Vancouver in winter time - AT NIGHT - and hitting a patch of ice about 3 blocks long - and good enough to skate on. Me and the bike parted ways, and we both slid for at least a block before coming to a stop. I picked up the bike - and went on my way - merrily dashing up and down the ski slopes - realizing only later that several hundred skiers would hate my guts the next day for the ruts and holes that I dug.
Craziness is a HUMAN trait - that I admire in those people that I like. Without it, we wouldn't be inventive or creative - or fun.
I am with you on your VOG references - remember when they chewed MY ass for suggesting that they should check out THIS site? I have seldom gone there since.... AND DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT 'SIGNING OFF' HERE !!!! |

the only reason I even went to VOGNET is because youtube tracks the referral. I was expecting some "he insane" comments to get a chuckle or two, but some of the comments were uneducated and reminincent of harley rider cracks that have no merit.
TP I love that MotorVaryderational post - that's a keeper!
Another note is that someone posted the video on the VTX site and I checked that out. I read comments I would expect from fellow riders...

New Bohemia, VA | Well finally after two-days and I'm getting the DT's Dilusional Throttles, you know when everywhere you go you pretend cranking a throttle...okay, maybe it's just me then. I know I have CTS, Cranking Throttle Syndrome, but that is another story. I'll be on my way to N.C. here in a little bit and then on to S.C. into the wee hours of the morning. Spend Christmas Eve with the daughter, and Christmas day with the out-laws, I mean in-laws. Then it is back home again, with the only catch, it is predicting to rain, rain, rain. The high is going to be the 50's down south so it might not be that bad, for me. But I might just get stuck at the daughters for Christmas day, ikes, I forgot, the ex-in-laws will be by so I guess it is riding in the rain for me.
