Your welcome....I think you meant Radioteacher...not Teach. I must say that Teach is a real asset to this group and I enjoy his posts.

The real thanks goes to KansasGuardsMan. He came up with the mod. Did you Clip the wires or push the wires out of the plug?

Yeah, thanks!!! A friend I ride with was always complaining about not being able to see my brake lights which I dismissed as I did not know that half of my brake lights turned off when I was going to make a turn. I cut the wires and this weekend I am going to fix my left side bag thanks to the latest video. You da' man!!!

Arkainzeye,

On pushing out the pins from the connector..... I have not done this myself. If they work like computer connector pins....they have a catch on the side(s) of each pin that holds it in place. These catches need to be pushed in towards the pin while the wire is pulled back through the connector. On one post about the video someone mentioned about using a small spring to push in the catches that hold the pin in place.

Raise up the windshield in case you pop a fuse in the process. The lights and windshield motor share a fuse. If you pop it with the windshield down it is tough to replace. I would try to remove the pins from the back part of the harness if possible.....not the connector that goes to the front of the Vision.

There is a small tool which can be bought from the auto parts stores which is made to release the pins (catches) from the housing, this allows you to reuse the pins with out damage when the new wire is added. Just remember to place the seal over the new wire before installing the new wire on the pin and replacing it in the housing. The seal keeps water out of the connection.
I have purchased this tool from the AC Delco dealer.

What video?? Where is it? I have had not so good luck finding some pics, and videos on this site, although I have been here a while....I just looked in the gallery, and just saw some summer '09 pics...no video. Is it in tech?? Cornfused here. I am thinking of tail/brake lights as the more, the better...so any input would be great!------Metalguy

I unwrapped mine yesterday, snipped the wires, added the liquid electrical sealant coating and then re-wrapped.

I should have re-read the thread to discover the PIN REMOVAL alternative.

Thanks RadioTeacher and KansasCityGardsMan.

Excellent idea! I have a pin removal tool that I can borrow from work. I will do this while I have my bike apart for my blackout project!

Why wouldnt you want all the lights lit up?
