| Anyone used this product on their windshield? I did and it has destroyed it. It now has streaks and haze that will not come off. I want to make sure nobody else makes the same mistake. A small bottle costs ~9 bucks. It is supposed to be safe for acrylic, plastic, etc and says it can be used on goggles, face shields, mirrors etc. DON'T USE THIS. The bottle was purchased at my Victory Dealership.

Durango, Colorado | Try a product called"Plexus". You can find it at most any MC shop. Kinda pricy, but it's the bees knees for all the applications you state. I keep a can and a small piece of flannel in my bags for roadside windshield cleanup. Nothing better! -Paulhu |

Jasper, MO | Thanks for the warning. Plexus is good. I've been using Honda spray Polish and Cleaner for many years. All the Goldwingers keep a can in the trunk. Works on Visions too.

Edmonton Alberta, Canada | Well I was impressed with the freeby cleaning kit I recieved last year, and been waiting for another......do think that is going to happen. However the glass cleaner work extremly well and will be buying it again if my Victory dealer stocks it. Cleaned the bug, and kept the dust off very well, never had enough to do complete bike, cause it repeld dust good and no streaking or next to no elbow grease needed. |

Northeast Ohio | Bike Brite is VERY abusive to bare aluminum as well if you don't wash it off EXTREMELY well. A Harley guy told me for normal washing cut the Bike Brite 50% with water. You only need the full power if you are cleaning a mud covered bike/quad/tractor. I followed his advice and then rinsed VERY well. Then I rinsed more to be sure.
I've used the Honda windshield cleaner/polish on my Gold Wing For years and I just put it on my '10 Vision windscreen last night. It makes cleaning road bugs off very easy. This stuff and a small can of Plexus will keep your windshield in great shape.
You could also try some of the plastic headlight renewal products than polish the yellow off of auto plastic headlights. I don't know if you would get any "waviness" in the windscreen that would be annoying.

Bottom line: Never use your windshield to test a product you have not used before. Only use plastic cleaning products that you or someone you know has used for many years with good results. The negative affects of chemicals on the windshield are not always immediate. They can be delayed for many years.
As a side note, the spray-on type sun screen lotion is detrimental to almost every surface of the Vision. The gf got overspray on mine and I cannot get it off the paint, chrome, or lower deflectors. |
