Central Wisconsin | I installed the Lloydz (IAV) and had a heck of a time attaching the rubber hoses. Couldn't get my fingers working in all the right places between the jug heads. I just want to past on what worked for me. I ended up taking the hard plastic hoses off from the other side. Then feed them back through the Idle Air Controller side.  |

Northeast Ohio | I have mine on too. Much better than having the IAC disconnected, but still don't have fast idle warm-up. Going to swing by Lloyds minishop in Daytona, since I am here, and see if there is anything else that can be done. There is mention in the instructions about adjusting the VFCIII to lean it out a bit. I haven't done that yet. |

I don't have a fuel controller yet, maybe when/if I decide to do the cams. I didn't have any popping when running the bike standing still in the driveway. I had to adjust the Idle Air Valve (IAV) a second time for a 1000 rpm idle.

I see your from Ohio, we have a Baraboo, Wisconsin (ride) planned in June and some people from Ohio will be attending. Plus two couples from Florida both with 2010 Spyders.

I'm curious to find out if you get good first results with only adjusting the Idle Air Valve (IAV) and not having to adjust your VFC lll.

I think I have the IAC back to the factory state (idle speed) and need to now work on adjusting Lloyds IAV. His recommendation is to open up the IAV to support fast idle to about 1100-1200 rpm. So you have to do this when it is cold. He recommended 1/2 turns on the IAV until you get there. He also said not many should need to adjust the VFCIII if you have one.
I also found that a little silicon spray on my fingers rubbed onto the plastic hoses really helped out with getting the IAV installed. I, too, was afraid of breaking the plastic tubes that come down from the intake. |

just wondering if your dealer disconnected your IAV and it stopped the popping, why do you want to reconnect it and then use the lloyds setup ? is there an Advantage to using the IAV? |

Northeast Ohio | Arkainzeye, on cold mornings, I had to keep the throttle manually opened with my hand to keep the bike running until warm with the IAC disconnected. I am hopeful that with the IAV properly adjusted that I will have some cold fast idle back so I don't have to do this. Disconnecting the IAC did help (about 90%) with my popping. |

LaPorte,Tx. | I've had the valve on for a few days now. It started fine at 30 degrees. Idle was at 1000-1100 rpm. I have not had time to make small adjustments yet. Is it worth it? |

I was bored this evening and looking at the power commander V user guide (online) you mentioned about the dealer disabling the IAV? and that you had to give it MORE fuel to im guessing
"enrichen" the mixture when the temps were colder? here is a copy and paste from the PCV website. do you think what they said would counter act the need for you to hold your throttle on a cold start?
Start up fuel
Start up fuel can be based on time or engine
temperature. Choose what mode from the
drop down menu.
Time - from the first revolution of the crank
the software will deliver a set percentage of
fuel for a given amount of time in seconds
Engine temp - the software will deliver a percentage
of fuel over the fuel map based on
engine temperature. This can only be used
if engine temperature has been configured.
all of what i copied and paste was to show these things are user adjustable... do you think with that PCV you could just disable the IAV and use the pcv to enriched the mix on a cold start or for the first (xx) seconds of a start up? any thoughts? |

Been satisfied over all with the annoying exhaust pops gone.

That's pretty close to what mine idles at when hot...upper 900, just below 1000 on the tach. |
