...isn't that a safety sticker that is illegal to remove?

Yup, WD40 is great for removing the glue.

take the panel off- warm it from behind with a hairdryer...

rub a papertowel with goo-gone (better smell than WD40) and leave it one there for a while..then peel the tiny little pieces that come off.

The legality is an interesting point. Wish there was a lawyer in the forum. I would say that it served it's purpose to Victory once the bike was sold with the sticker intact. However, I think the person that resells the bike with the sticker removed will assume the liability that Victory avoided.

...sorry g, didn't mean to open up the debate. That sticker is like the tag on a mattress that forbids removal under penalty of law, for the dealer, not the owner. I took mine off within days of ownership using a short blow from a hairdryer and some pledge until it shine up without the sticky stuff. Take it off, take it all off....

Funny thing about those stickers...........when you find a 30 year old bike with the stickers still on it has a certain cool factor. Kind of like it just left the factory. However, when you see guy riding a new bike with the stickers still on you assume the owner is just a little different (no offense to those with stickers still on) than most.
As for sticker removal I don't grab the heat gun if I don't need to. Peel that baby off and use WD-40 on the glue. A little Windex followed by a fresh coat or two of Liquid Glass.

The law states that the manufacturer must provide the sticker in the visible place, however the law does not state that the owner must keep it.
Much like the label on a pillow or bed linen. THEY have to put it there, but YOU can remove it.

My sticker came off but the glue left a matte hue to the paint that wouldnt come off (chemical reaction plus UV sun) I ended up having it repainted and sealed by the guy who does my custom painting. Interesting to note he said that panel isnt actually painted its gloss black plastic, which is why the stickers are difficult to remove and often mar the surface. The paint he uses and the sealer are amazing. I can lean against it with my belt buckle etc and the sealer will not allow anything to scratch that surface Well worth the 25.00 to paint.

I left the sticker on mine cause' I heard that removing it causes the exhaust popping......Or was it front end wobble.....Er....Belt chirp? Definately one of those things.  Better safe than sorry........I always say.

i removed my stickers and gave 7.3 HP and 5.4 ftlbs ! and i think decreasing the weight of the sticker gave me a better power to weight ratio
