It's fine to use heat to bend the kickstand, just be sure to re-harden by quenching. You may get some discoloration however, as it appears to have some sort of finish on it. Always quench structural elements bent or modified by heating to a glow. the exception being weld joints as they tend to brittle and may develop cracks.

I have an 08' vison that is 3" in the front (lowered), and 3.5" lowered in the back. I still use the stock shock. My girl rides on the back all the time. She says the ride is way more comfortable than the stock seat and bike. I do have the ness skid plate. It has saved me more than once since my bike is only 2" off the skid plate.
You can lower the rear of the vision 1" or 2" with very little effect to the bike. My bike has seen over a 100 mph with no problem in handling. Only issue is it drags on the corners of the skid plate because its so low. I make a lowering kit for the bike( 1" and 2" ) also have air ride available. By using the lowering link combined with the seat you can lower the ride height of your Vison from 2.5" to 4.5" . Its easier to adjust your ride with the air... one person or two can ride on any terrain at the push of a button.
I will be opening a web store that offers lots of parts for the vision.... should be up oct.2010. We will offer one off front wrap around fenders( fornt and rear), lowering kits, air ride kits, tinted turn signals, tinted reat tail lites, lay down license brackets, redesigned custom memory foam seats, cut down short front windshields, and much more. If you have any questions or need pics please contact me at HMD520@yahoo.com
