I know they probably took it to a Vic dealer but your tires are the same as a Honda Gold wing. They are a very popular and well stocked tire at any Honda dealer. Just for future reference. I ran into the same problem I got it to a Honda dealer and they looked at the bike and said ?What the hell is that? after telling him how to disconnect the shock to drop the tire he had if changed in no time. He said it was a piece of cake!

I think it is important for all Vision riders that don't know how to remove the rear wheel for a tire change, get that info from the elctronic service manual, print it out, and keep on the bike. That way any cycle shop can do a tire replacement. The E-3 rear tire is a very common tire and with the instructions, any dealer service or Mom & Pop MC shop should be able to get you going. Even if you can't get a motorcycle tire to fit, without a long wait, you might be able to get the Darkside tire and put on to get you home or to keep on. I think most Darksides are 195/55R/16 tires.

The Vision rear tire is very easy to remove and install, well, a little finese when you install because of the brake bracket is required. Never force anything when reinstalling.

Also, as you found out don't plug a hole that big, even it if did work you're asking for more trouble. Unless it is just a nail puncture, replace, rather than try and fix it, even if it is a temporary fix. I only mention this as other folks not fully understanding will try plug a tire on their bike and unknowingly put themselves at great risk. We all have a tendancy to take the chance instead of being prudent in these kind of situations.

The electronic manual, argh, is the PDF version, I think there is a link if you search here on the site for "manual"

The service manual burn to a CD or DVD... Or a memory stick - flash drive
