| Who has replaced there stock speakers and with what and where did you get them? Mine are starting to crackle and i need to replace them before they take a dump. Any help here would be great. |

Durango, Colorado | Alot of guys on the site have upgraded to the JM or Alpine speakers. I haven't personally heard either of them but most speak highly of the JM's. I am looking to do the same thing. Just do a search in the forums for "speakers". Lots of threads there including installation instructions. |

Kincardine, Ontario, Canada | I upgraded to the J&M speakers based on what every one else was doing the first week I had the 08 Vision. In my opinion, it was a waste of cash, the improvement was minimal.

Remember, you can get a lot of bang for your buck by proper installation. You can spend minimal $$ or thousands, but neither will produce the sound quality the speakers and/or system is capable of if you cut corners. If you have a Tour model, at the very least build enclosures or use foam baffles for the rear speakers. |

Troy, NY | I upgraded to the J&M speakers and like them. The sound distortion at highways speeds is minimal with the J&Ms. Stock speakers I couldn't listen to them at highway speeds. |

| I did the Alpine upgrade and am happy. I do not know how the J&M compare. I also learned that if I turn the auto-control feature off I can turn the radio up way louder. It is crazy loud as it gets up to 26 and 30... with no distortion. (Ipod) Sounds Great!
Also: For your Ipod. In itunes highlight all your songs (or the ones you choose only..I did all of them) and then right click.... you will get an option for "get info"... click on that... then click on "options"..... then slide the "volume adjuster" to 100%. You will get a nice noticable increase in your volume.
If you choose all of your songs (or more than one actually) it will ask you to confirm you want to make changes on multiple songs... just say ok.
This helped me get more volume, and with the disabling of the auto-volume control... I am happy. But, I certainly would like a little more bass and clarity. For a simple speaker swap, the Aplines did good. I would assume the J&M are very similar.
These tips should get you more volume and clarity. Come back and let me know !
And remember.... If you go into iTunes and push up the volume of your songs in your library you will have to RE SYNC your ipod !!!!! It will still have the other ones.....

Vancouver, B.C. & La Quinta, CA | mgoblue, I have the Hawg Wired system installed on my 09 Ness. They are a definite improvement, with more volume, power and are very articulate. However, they are expensive and nothing short of a subwoofer is going to come close to what a good car system sounds like. The problem I see is that the only frequencies you really can hear well at 80 MPH on a bike are the medium to high frequencies. Based on this, the Hawg Wired does as it promises (in my experience). Maybe you can get the same improvements with a simple speaker change? Worth a try. |

| I went with the PolkAudio MM521 5 1/4 COAXIAL which are Marine Certified. Sensitivity 92dB, Impedance 2.7 Ohms. They are being used as the front speakers, I haven't changed the rear speakers as of yet. They went in very easy and sound a whole lot better than the stock on my 2009 Vision. I haven't heard Alpine or any other so don't know how they would compare. |

Strange, on mine I don't notice any difference on the bike, unless I've got it plugged in through the headphone jack.

I have the 4 channel Hawg-wired system. It is loud and clear. However, like you stated, only the higher frequencies are audible at 80mph. This is probably why the x-overs are set so high. Making the amps drive the low frequencies when you won't hear them anyway would be an inefficient use of power. Taking the lows out and using the 75wx4 to push only middle to high frequencies is why the system is so loud yet clear.
I have been experimenting with different subs. Here is a link to what I have found.

Michigan | j&m upgrades are a waste of money (09 vision tour premium) my factory speakers sound much better. j&m's are used for paper weights now. don't waste your money |

| I replaced all of my stock speakers with the bazooka mc offering. They aren't bad, but they're certainly not great. With an ipod, they sound pretty decent, but at speeds higher than 65, you hear little less than the vocals. If I was doing it again, I'd look into either the Alpine's orPolks before I went with the Bazooka's, but I got them at cost, so guess I can't complain too much!
