Anyone looking for a project, or parts - there is a damaged (front end) 2008 Vision for sale (asking $5,000) in Kelowna BC.

The bike is at "Banner Recreational Product" - and photos and more info is available on their website:

http://www.bannerrec.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=89019&Used=1

The poor thing needs a home.....

not for $5,000, maybe it's worth $2,500 at best IMHO...

What would a new/used engine alone be worth? Wouldn't take much to get to 5 gees. Suppose it has 15,000 miles on it - Chris, you wouldn't go from 85,000 down to 15,000 for a mere $5,000? And newer pipes and belt and rear wheel would cover the shipping. GO FOR IT !!!!

I agree Jim, I hate to see things like this and not know nothing else.

Don, not a bad idea, however, the engine is a frame member, it may be bullet proof on the road, but in a crash, I'll stick with my old 3114, thanks for the suggestion.

I recovered from my greedy thinking about 'parts' and came back here to comment about .... what happened.

And like Chris and Jim - my prayers go out to the owner(s) of that machine. That was an Alberta plate and I would like to feel that the unfortunate soul(s) now have a new Vision to replace their write-off.

When we see license plates from Alberta, Saskachewan, Manitoba - and some of the mid-western states, we here in B.C. call them "Learner's Licenses" - since most of them freak out when they see an actual 'curve' in the road. Throw in some 'ups' and 'downs' in the mountains, and the freakout is complete. And maybe worst of all - throw in some B.C. drunken yahoo's on the same road at the same time - disaster.

MOST front-end damaged bikes have been in a situation where an on-coming driver turns left into the path of a bike. Happened to one of my best friends. Luckily - he survived with only a broken back - after hitting the side of a cliff while diving off of his Harley to avoid certain death in a head-on.

Be careful out there (I know - I don't have to remind you.... )
