My grandson took his first trip down the road today. I think I liked it as almost as much as he did. Don't get me wrong, he has been riding around the yard for the last couple of years. Since he turned 4 today, I told him that we would take a short ride for his birthday. Then I made him wait until all of the visitors that showed up for the party were on their way home. Every 15 minutes or so he would ask if it was time to ride. That went on all afternoon. Finally I told him to saddle up. The smile was ear to ear. When we returned to the house, his first question was: Can we do this again tomorrow? I think he was a little dazed from the ride. But it did feel great to take him out. ET

Way to go. I could just hear my daughter-in law if I wanted to take my grandson for a spin. Takes all kinds. Our future in most things is all about showing our youngsters what fun is all about and this goes for biking, hunting and just good ole common sence thinking. Great pictures.

Ride hard, ride fast but above all, ride safe......

You're a good Papa! Train them young and maybe they won't buy a Harley.

That was his mother taking the pictures. The first time we took a spin around the yard, he was 2. I was down at the shop washing bikes and after he helped get the 1999 C dried off, he said he wanted to go for a ride. So I put him on the tank, then fired it up and waited for him to cry. Instead he reached over to the throttle and gave it a little twist. My first thought was cool. So off around the yard we go. My daughter was in the house washing dishes when we rode by the door (I could hear her over the pipes) Daddy what are you doing? So on the 2nd trip around the house, I stopped and told her he asked for the ride. She said something like "I should have known this was going to happen, I just didn't think it would happen so soon". Now both grandsons ask for a ride when I get home from work. The younger one is still 2. ET

Well it was day 3 and he wants to know where we are riding tomorrow? Yesterday it was: we need to go down to the CVS to pickup grandma's drugs. His words, not mine. And the 2 year old raised hell when we made him get off at the end of our dirt road before we hit the paved road. ET
