Ive been doing this mod to all my bikes for a few years. I came across the product on 650 VStar forums (I own one) but I have applied it to all my bikes. The company is Star Parts, they focus on the Star motorcycle line. Despite that this would work with any bike that uses a normal style key.

http://www.starparts.org/

They have quite a few different ones to choose from, check them out.

Basically you cut your key down to fit inside this "cover" to make it visually appealing.

There is a slot in the back of this cover. You fill it full of JB Weld, slide your cut down key inside of it and let it setup. Takes 10 mins to do and REALLY cleans up/enhances that area of your bike.

This is what the finished product looks like:

Here is what it looks like IN the Vision.

Really great, nice, I like that. It did give me the willys thought to see the key laying on the painted surface, I wouldn't even do that...

Just ordered on for my son as a gift. I also sent an email to the company as the state on their web site they are branching out to serve all brands of bikes. I suggested a Victory line of products. Maybe they will start making something specific to our bikes if we ask?

I know this product line and the owner. I have done the same thing as well. Really good quality products. I will call the owner and talk to him about making stuff just for the Victory line as well.

do you need a plain key blank or a key with the black victory triangular plastic thing to make this work.

Either will work.

I used my plastic Victory covered key. I just had to cut the plastic off - there is a regular key inside there.

does JB weld come with key cover or do I have to buy that separately? If so, where do you get it?

I received an email from the company today and he is very excited about putting some ideas together and producing Victory and Vision Key Knobs. I'll post updates.

Cool idea. I think I'll fab something up on a mill just to call it my own. Not trying to hijack. Does anyone else her notice the "rubber arc" that keychains leave below the ignition on the console? I am getting sick of scrubbing that off everytime I wash my bike so not having a keychain for this design doesn't bother me in the least anymore.

I have done the same mod on my key for my 2009 VVTP. I bought the Army Crest because I am retired Army. The mod is very simple if you folow the instruction. I found a dremel to be the best tool to shape the top of the key. On the vision you have to acount for the added height of the ring around the ignition. I also compensated for the angle of the ignition. If you JB weld the key in the knob perpendicular to the knob then when you insert the key in the ignition it will be crooked. I waited a few minuites as the JB weld was hardening and slowly inserted the key into the ignition and then aligned it to the ring around the key slot. When it dried it was perfect.
I have noticed another bonus to the shape of the key and knob... I dont forget which pocket I put my key in. When I had it on a flat key chain it would dissapear into my leathers and the search would commence. Now I know exactly where it is at all times. The other bonus it I dont get that rubbed area on the center console from the key fob. Very Happy with the product... Top Quality.

What sucks is that my key is starting to wear out. I'm going to take my spare and get a fresh one made, maybe this'll be a good option for the new key.
