Hi all -

I have seen these Victory Vision Tour HID Xenon SLIM Motorcycle Kits from Sportiva being sold on eBay (see link below). They supposedly turn your factory headlight into an HID. The kit costs approx $55 versus the HID light from Victory selling much, much more. Has anybody used these? Does the electronics make sense that it is possible?

On my BMW LT I replaced the stock bulb with a DDM tuning motorcycle hid kit. Made a world of difference. I have not done so here though as the Vision comes with two halogens and one hid. At least mine did. Maybe the 8balls don't.

I wounder how much replacement bulbs are. I know its going to take longer then a half hour. My HID bulb doesn't do much other then lights up the first 10 feet better. I replace my two H4 bulbs with bright white bulbs from the auto store for less then twenty buck and think there bright. As far as the light draw and wattage doesn't look like it will be out of line.

i think the things to consider are. how much power will it pull? and more importantly how much HEAT would it create inside that lens.. The lens is NOT cheap to replace if it melts/warps... I know the bottom HID light throws off some serious heat, but that part is designed for it...

Ya might want to google some of the statements.......

*Bulb electrode is made by Planskee of Austria. .....um.....when I google Planskee I find nothing about the company.
*Bulb Color Pills are made by APL of America..... same thing again....zilch.
*Xenon gas is supplied by Prax Air of America with Xenon gas purity of 99.999%  ....well....can find info on Praxair...but not Prax Air

When looking at HID or Xenon or other crap on Ebay you need to be very careful and have good knowledge of what you are looking for. When it comes to HID the cheaper the units the MORE problems and regrets you WILL have.

A good place to get some knowledge is http://www.danielsternlighting.com/

Thanks for all the input so far. Good website Lotzafun!!

Sounds like it is more trouble than its worth. I fine the stock headlights had been good for me so far......what ain't broke doesn't need to be fixed...as the saying goesn

HID's after startup pull less amps and generate less heat than halogens. I have been using DDM tuning HID's for a few years now with good luck.

I wouldn't buy this kit, it does not have a high beam.......
Here's the right one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hid-Kits-Bi-Xenon-Dual-Beam-Slim-900...

I picked up a kit for my 8-Ball on ebay a few yrs. back that I'm pleased with, people always comment on how bright the HID light is, eventually I will be getting a kit for my Vision.

Not really that much trouble, most of these kits are plug and play, the real trouble is getting the old bulbs out of the Vision : )

For the record, the HID bulbs last longer than halogen, use less power, run cooler, are less susceptible to vibration and are about 3 times brighter.

just asking? why is it that if i turn my high beams on and then i turn on my HID (bottom) light i can ONLY feel the heat from the HID light? i can feel the heat on my HID light at over 9 inches from the lens. if someone else wants to try it. im curious to see if its just me..

One of the biggest issues is the focal light point location. If it isn't in the right location and if it throws light forward, you could really blind oncoming traffic with HIDs. Personally I don't like the idea of potentially blinding an oncoming car on a tight 2 lane mountain road.

Real HIDs include special reflectors and lens to prevent blinding other drivers.
