Since I've been lurking on the site for quite a while now, I thought I should probably introduce myself to the group.
About me...I'm 47 years old, 29 years in the Air Force (now active duty in the Air National Guard), and married for 23 years. I have only been riding for about 5 years. My first bike was a 2006 Kawi Vulcan 900 LT. Put about 30,000 miles on it. Very fun bike, and great for a starter. Bought my '09 Vision last Feb. I currently have about 15,000 miles on her. Her name is Storm.
I've picked up a lot of great info from so many of you. It has helped me learn quite a bit about my Vision. I look forward to gaining a lot more knowledge from the board, and hopefully I can be of help to some of you.
Take care, and ride safe.

Welcome Russ...Congrats on your "Storm". Great to have you as part of the Vision Riders. I noticed your 1st post was to help Marc get the Victory 24 hour emergency number. Nice effort!

Oh, and thank you for your service to our great country. God Bless you and your family for that!

Welcome Russ,

My dad was squadron commander of an F-4 FASTFAC outfit called "Stormy" in Viet Nam.  If I had a black Vision, that's what I'd call it.

Welcome aboard! Your starter bike was a Vulcan? Geez! isn't that like learning to drive by starting out with a Lincoln limo? At least you didn't have the 'next bigger bike jitters' did ya? Many happy miles to you and never stop learning about the cagers, they're an adaptive bunch so be on your toes bro-

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I look forward to the discussions, and hopefully a meet up with some of you in the future for a ride.
@ SYNSTR - Decided on the Vulcan 900 Classic LT for a couple of reasons when I started riding. I have never had any luck buying anything used, and for $8000 new, I got a bike that I wouldn't necessarily outgrow quickly. I also figured that when it came time for a new ride, it wouldn't be as drastic of a learning curve, going to a larger bike. Learning on a Limo sounds like a good thing to me.
@ VisionTex - Riding The Storm Out is actually the theme song that I chose for the bike. Always liked REO, and I listen to that song whenever I go out.

P.S. Where can I find a good oil thread ;> Just kidding. Hold your fire. Talk to y'all soon.

Welcome to the fold. I bought my first Victory in 03, it was an 02 TCD and have enjoyed it beyond measure. While I was on active duty I rode my ancient Moto-Guzzi until it swallowed a valve. Can't say enough good about how trouble free Victory's are. I bought my 2010 Vision last April and wow what a bike. Thanks for your service, I'm glad my 24 years of service ended back in 1993.

Russ:  Welcome to Vision community.  I did 7 years on active duty (USAF) 1984 to 1991.  I was a Navigator/EWO on RC-135S.  I too have a black Vision (2008) and enjoy it very much.  I have gotten more questions answered correctly here than at any dealership.
