I love learning new things about my Vision. I replace a tail for the first time since getting the bike nearly three years ago. I figured it would be SIMPLE, but 30 minutes later I finished the task. Maybe I'm missing something, but I had to remove the license plate to remove the rear V-panel to remove the rear valance to remove the light assembly to change a single light.

But I did discover that I need to pull off all of that stuff to give 'er a good bath, a lot of dirt up in there, also, with all that open contour space the Vision would make a good drug smugglin' bike, not that I would ever do something like that or advocate it.

Your right on having to take all that off to replace a bulb. Went through the same thoughts when I switched to LEDs. Have to remove that license plate bracket everytime you take off the trunk too, which I do about twice a year.

Same here. But not for LED's. I did the sequential turn mod without the LED's. The visibility difference is astounding. Especially the stops.

The area behind the taillights worked out well when I installed the isolator/converter for the trailer wiring.

Don't believe there is an "LED conversion". Choose your LED bulbs and replace the incandescent bulbs. You do have to add a resistor so that the flasher and cruise will work. Personally, I have not seen a big enough difference in viability to justify the cost. I think the sequencer mod adds more than enough visibility. (3 brake lights on each side vs 1 or 2 / 3 signal lights each side vs 1)

I saw the price on the LEDs and I said to myself, "Yeah right, I'm going to pay more to be seen just the same! No Way!"

There are some LED's that are way brighter than the incandescents. You just got to do a lot of research to find the right ones. Believe me, a LOT of research. There are several companies that lie about their products like you wouldn't believe. They have to have high lumens for LEDs to be bright enough. Wish I could find my receipts for the ones I put in my bike to let you know who I bought them from. And yes, you have to put a resistor inline to make them signal at the correct speed and that crazy thing about our cruise control to work right. Now granted LEDs are more expensive, but they can last a whole lot longer.

I believe when we make changes to our bikes, especially in the way of electronics, it needs to be understood the disclaimer that the warranty may not be honored if something goes wrong with the electrical system. I'm not advocating either way, just restating some situations that have been posted on here where someone made a minor electrical change and something else died, whether or related or not, the warranty would not cover it. Besides being as cheap as they come, if that makes sense in owning a $24,000 machine that most consider a toy, but I'm stock to the bone from headlight to taillight. I still got another year left on warranty and hope that if anything is going to break it does it soon. But if not, though tried and true by many in some of the lighting accessories, I'll think long and hard on whether I want to put whoopy lights on the bike and play the risk of replacing a $1,000 part that the failure may or may not been caused by what I did.

I make this post to get rebuttals as I sit on the fence when it comes to making these type of changes beyond OEM type products because I want to ride more than I want to be fancy, I want to ride more than I want to figure out what in the world I did to screw something up and the bike don't run.

I don't disagree with you about the warranty issue, but when you add the driving lights that came as an accessory you put more of a load with those then the resistors for the lights ever would. I changed mine due to the fact that I do ride at night a lot back and forth to work and these LEDs are brighter and faster reacting than incandescents. Just a little more safety to ease my mind.

Flatsix, I believe I got the bulbs through Autolumination. They were the 7 watt Eagle eyes. Just remember that you have to get them in red for the rear and yellow for the front or else they won't look bright. Has to do with the way the lenses reflect the light. The resistors I know I got from ebay. They are the 50 watt 6 ohm resistors. They have a bunch on there right now. Usually can get them for about $8 a pair shipped. They say you can use a 25 watt 6 ohm, but I never tried. I had swapped all the bulbs in my '09 F-150 and the bike at the same time so I ordered them all the same. Worked great so far and no issues with the bike or the truck.

I just bought Codfather's bike. I'm going to pull the tail lights today and see what's in there. My first day out on the bike by normal riding buddy said my rear lights are so bright now it doesn?t look like a"V" any more at night; it looks like 6 individual lights now. I looked at a dozen different styles on the internet, not sure if any will diffuse the light better. I'm hesitant to revert to regular bulbs. He had a module put in so all six bulbs come on when you brake. That would draw 162 watts just from the brake lights. I'll know in a little while.
