Thanks for all the threads and information on GPS imstallations guys. Finally won a refurbished Garmin on ebay for under $100. Local shop had the mounting kit in stock for my 09 Tour so this morning I did the install with the cumulative knowledge of all you who have posted your experiences. Install was a breeze, no surprises and would probably have been finished in under an hour had I not stopped to make a fresh pot of coffee.

Thanks again.

Congrats, and what a great deal! I have my garmin on board all the time (except when I'm using it in my pickup) and love it. Primarily because we can just head out in any direction and we alway know where we are and how to get back. It would be very hard for me if I had to go back to the old fashioned way of getting around. And whenever you feel like something to eat or need a little gas up, it's two touches of the screen to located the nearest.

Good Luck!

Which one did you get? I've been looking too.

Dan, I got a refurb'd 2720. It had the GPS, Mapquest software disk, computer patch chord, Bean Bag mount, 120V plug for the house, and two automotive 12V plugs.
