Here is a video of a Police Officer riding a HD on a set-course and being timed. AMAZING stuff - but I wonder how a Vision would do ???

WATCH IN HI-DEF (1080p) and FULL SCREEN if you can !!!

I took the"Ride Like A Pro" course last year. The instructor is a Houston motorcycle officer. His bike was a Harley. I let him ride the Vision and his comment that stuck with me was "That is longer than my bike". The shorter bike would have an advantage. So like XR said...not as good.

Our wheelbase is longer but our lean angle is better.
Our linked brakes might be a disadvantage.

FWIW, the Vision should perform every bit as well as the CC, all frame specs are identical between the 2 bikes.

You really think 2" longer in the Vic's wheelbase would make that much of a difference? As someone else already said, the Vic does have a better lean angle.

I was part of a test program for a new MSF course called ultimate bike bonding, it is based on all motor cop exercises like the lolipop, maltese cross, etc, and the vision did real well. the only problem i had was my comfort level leaning the bike at slow speeds. The gentleman who was demonstrating all the exercises was on a goldwing. Yes most of us didnt by the vision to do those sort of exercises but, it is nice to know that the bike will handle anything you throw at it.

I can you this because I ride both weekly, My RoadGlide is smaller & lighter and handles better at slow speeds than my Vision. I've said this before, but whenever I've been riding the Vision alot and then hop on the RG the first thing I think is " Damn this thing is small "............However at high speeds the Vision is better: the mono shock controls rebound alot better than the twin ( cheap as shit ) shock HD setup...........

Ditto.

I have a Road King as well as my Vision and totally agree with XRsteve. I took the Ride Like a Pro course on my Vision, and later practiced some of the same maneuvers on my Road King. While the Vision did fine, the Road King is better in these situations. My biggest problem with these types of exercises on the Vision is the linked brakes. Yes, the wheelbase is longer, and this has an effect, but for me at least, the linked brakes were the real limiting factor. Maybe just my own limitatiions.

Anyway, like has already been said, I do not ride a Vision to do tight parking lot maneuvers, but its nice to know the Vision can hold its own when in tight situations. And it doesn't matter that another bike might do it better, what I think is important is to be able to get everything out of the Vision that I can, and to that end, taking a class like Ride Like a Pro just helps improve those skills.

As someone who still rides both a Vision and a Harley, I can say without hesitation that the Vision is my first choice by far for reasons that everyone on this site already knows, and if I had to pick one bike, the Vision is IT. But the Harley is still fun sometimes.

Meanwhile the other cop drove over the cones, straight to the perp, shot & killed him, and saved the day.
