Are you sure about the K&N filters not included on the S1L1 exhaust upgrade???My 2011 new Vision does not look like it has the same filter in it as it did setting on the showroom floor before I had the Stage 1 done by dealer.......After posting this note I checked the Victory web-site and it says Victory Performance air filter included with the system....Whatever that means is the filter in the bike I suppose.....I thought it was a K&N cause it looks orange color like K&N's....Oh well.......

The Vic Performance air filter is put on with the S1L1, or at least it was by my dealer. RT, they didn't put one on yours?

The filter looks like a K&N, cleans like a K&N . . . bit it's not.

The victory performance filters screen busts bad.... Is it rusting and the rust is bleeding onto the filter and staining it..

Yes, I did get a new air filter with my S1L2 exhaust. It is like a K&N filter but only cheaper. The metal screen rusted so bad it had holes in it and it had to be replaced.

The filter that Victory supplies is NOT a real K&N....it just sort of looks like one.

Vision Air Filter

The Victory "oiled" air filter is called "Performance Air Filter," part # 2876628 and cost a little over $65.00. I put one in my 08 Tour Premium in October 2009. The only maintenance I have done is tapped out the big bugs and cigarette butts, and re-sprayed on a little K & N oil. It's the oil that catches the fine particulates, not the filter cloth. It seems to help the engine breath easier at Colorado altitudes (5,000 feet) and to me it was worth the cost. And I have seen no signs of rust on mine, maybe it could be a problem in high humidity areas.

When I called in the fall of 2009 it seemed to me the K & N guy said there wasn't, "currently enough demand" to R and D then produce the Vision air filters.

That is still the case apparently...Maybe a few more calls or Victory selling more bikes with the S1L1 kit will encourage them to offer a filter...For now I quess we live with the Vic one which I suppose is'nt all that bad....I cannot address this issue yet as my Vision has less than 2000 miles on it....

If it's any consolation, the Vic Performance filter on my bike has been fine. I would put another one on without reservation.

I have the Vic filter update in both the 03 TCD and the 08 Vision SP and have no issues with rust. I would suspect that a couple of rides in a down pour of rain without pulling them out and spraying down with a little K&N oil might be part of the situation. It might just be a material issue, using cheap material for the screen. Not sure but as I always say:

Just curious, any special "spray" you all are using for the Vic performance filter? I've found a couple different bottles... not sure it makes any difference, does it?

I've got the Victory performance filter on mine. I can physically see through my filter... not just light...physical holes along the edges of my filter, where the paper (or whatever material it is) is very thin...and, in about a half-dozen spots, the element is non-existant. Been that way since I bought the bike new with it on there. I'd buy the K&N over the Vic, if they made one. It's just an air filter, but I don't feel comfortable with how well it filters the incoming air charge. Just my two cents worth...
