Hello All

I have a subscription for lifetime download of garmin maps. I downloaded and installed the auto installer. It downloaded the new map but it will not install it. Has anyone else had this problem? Were you able to fix it?

Just in case this means a fatal malfunction with my 2820, I am not buying the same again. However, I have the mount installed on my bike. Does anyone know of another GPS that will fit this mount? Or is there another mount that fits on to the base that I have? I have the standard vision gps mount base.

Thanks

I have the lifetime on my 2720 it took several hours but mine downloaded after several attempts. Then when I put the unit on the bike it had issues but seemed to correct them in the driveway after it found a Sat link, has been fine since

i hope your able to get yours to work. i personally have had (3) 2720. then i gave up.. first one was new the other 2 were referbs... I gave up on them and now use car units with a upside down sandwich bag. LOL !! its doesnt talk through the audio system, but its a $99 Garmin that if it fails i wont have a $hit fit, like i did with the 2720 unit$.... i know i wasnt any help with my post. I just wish you the best of luck as my 2720's were P.O.S.!!

Gerica,
I have been struggling the last two weeks with a Garmin 2820 and Zumo 550. The 2012.1 software apparently had a bug and screwed up the routes I would create on the computer and the load into the GPS. Anyhow, last night I learned that 2012.2 was released this week. I loaded it last night on the Zumo 550 and it said that there wasn't enough space available. I ended up having to go into the "my computer" tab and then entering the garmin drive and deleting the old maps to make space. I forget the exact file name but it had map in the name and was the biggest file on the Garmin drive. I created a folder on the desktop and then copied the file to the new folder and then deleted it from the Garmin drive and that allowed the map enough room to load. The new software fixed my route issue and the unit works like new again.
I would try to download it again and see what happens. My vision is an anniversary model and came with the 2820. If you have that same aluminum block mount, the two bottom holes in the Zumo 550 cradle will secure it to the top two holes in the block if you cut about .180 of the screws and it is plenty solid with just the two screws.
