does anyone know if this is true or not??? i called my local dealer about the purchase of a 2011 victory vision and i saw victory is offering of rebate moneys and 5 year warranty... but here is my issue my local dealer said the extended warranty (4 years on top of the 1 year factory warranty) is power train ONLY and not the bumper to bumper type one i purchased on my 2008 vision..

does anyone know if this is true or not.. they claimed it is something NEW victory is doing with their give away warrantys , then i was told if i wanted the same extended warranty i have on my 08 vision i would have to pay $410 for it..

I can't answer concerning the 2011 version, but my dealer told me the $410 4 year extension for MY 2008 was actually powertrain only, when I looked into it when my first year was about up. I took the literature home and studied it and decided against the extended warranty. The language was very ambiguous. My dealer said the extended warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on. He said he would sell it to me, that he would get his cut, but he didn't recommend it. The extended warranty at that time was being administered by a third party, not Polaris, even though it had the Polaris endorsement. Maybe yours was different.

I had some minor warranty work done within the first year of ownership and haven't needed anything else since. YMMV.

Okay, I had to get my extended warranty papers out. I thought GE something was the Warrantor (word?).
My papers have Polistar Protection Plus in the upper left, But state the administrator is GE Capital Management
Corp in the upper right. If the new warranties are the same as I way back when I bought, it is a whole lot
more head to toe than just power train.

This is a good topic to bring up, as I am one of those extended warranty buyer type persons for MC's & Car's.

I think you found the difference.... Your warranty say protection plus.... The extra 4 year they are offering now is not the plus warranty...

Okay fellow board members, be sure to spread the word about this with any dealership offereing an extended warranty as part of the buying process.  We want all our fellow riders done right!

I was told that a lot of the dealerships are very confused over this new warranty . alot of them think it is the same extended warranty if they have been selling for few years . until dave read the fine print find out it is basically a powertrain warranty , and not the type of warranty we are use to that covers your radio and other things . my new dealership I am dealing with told me the plus warranty is an extra 410 dollars for 4 years . I told him the new extended warranty that you get for free is very misleading .
and I gave him my opinion of it is a pretty much useless extended warranty , since you rarely hear of a victory engine failing. He agreed...
