Anybody here have experience with this model of bike? Good, bad, or the ugly. Got a buddy looking to buy a bike. If Luke's hadn't been in Florida, I would have probably sent him that way.

So, anybody else got a bike close to me in good shape for sale and cheap?

Guy had it runnin when he showed up the first time to look at it, 2nd time to test ride wouldn't crank. Owner took it to shop and they got it runnin'. Basically needs a tuneup, oil changes, throttle body cleaning etc and a little spit shine.

I don't know anybody that owns a Victory other than ya'll, so what do you know?

Thanks, you guys and gals, kick A?? and Rock Hard!

I think I've seen one of those!
Nothing really to look for, other than the obvious. Tires, paint, sheet like that.

One of the biggest things to check, find out if the transmission update has been done. If not, then be weary. Not that it will cause problems or go south, but it can happen at any time unexpectedly.

Some had the speedo replaced due to the fact it kept draining the battery. So if that's the case, the actual milage might be different.

Give Lloyd a shout. I think he took one apart once.

I wonder if there is a way to tell if the speedo has been changed out. It looks like it has more than 7000 on it, but it wasn't kept prettied up and it is 8 years old.

You might have your dealer run the vin to see what's been done.
Since both the tranny upgrade and speedo were warranty items, if they were done I'm sure it would show up in the system.

On edit... Come to think of it now, there was also a fuel pump upgrade, and kickstand spring mount upgrade. It's been a while since I thought about these.

I have a 1999 C #949. Being almost 10 years old, it only has 20,000 something miles on it. I bought it used with 3400 miles on it. Just wanting a numbered bike. I had the tranny upgraded and added a mild cam. After riding the Vision, I have to readjust to riding my other bikes. But it is so much fun going from one bike to another to see how much the ride has improved. The Vision is my travel bike, the other bikes are for local riding(now). I have stood on the side of the road a couple of times because of something not working. Mostly wires being rubbed and grounding out. Or something I tried and s&i* happened. But it is still part of the adventure of riding. So if you have a chance to pick up an older Vic, go ahead and go for it. I have met a lot of cool folks while riding any of my Victorys. ET
