I went out for a 500 mile trip over the weekend and noticed a chirping noise ( Im guessing its the belt) when accelerating. It seems to be worse in cooler temps. The bike is a 2011 with 5000 miles ( 4500 when the noise started). Ive seen some posts from 08 owners with the same issue. Anybody with late model Visions have this ? Is it just in need of a belt adjustment ? Thanks

I have a 2011 Vision with about 6000 miles on it, I also have the chirping noise. Took it to my dealer and he stated that my,"rear sprocket has premature wear" and so he ordered a new one. He is going to change it when the part comes in, it's on back order.

My 2011 does the same thing on cool mornings. Five miles into the ride and it quits. I'll keep watch, if it gets worse I'll see the dealer.

'08 Vision belt, since the last replacement, chirps when cold but stops as it warms up. Has been adjusted twice, and I trust the wrench who has done it to do it right. Dealer took it for a check ride last week, but even after cooling down for two hours after I got there while other work was being done, it was still warm enough not to chirp. Learning to live with it; it dosen't last more than half-an-hour.

I measured my belt and it varied as much as 20 thousand. I now use canning wax or if you want paraffin wax. No more chirp. You can get the wax at the grocery store $2.95 for a life time supply. Rub it on the edge of the belt and your done.
If you use a liquid spay it picks up durst and the dirt will cut the edges of the belt .

Yeah , mine chirped all day long both days while I was on Skyline Drive in the cold rain. I dont think I want to put up with it like that ( I get caught in the rain alot). Im not gonna put belt dressing or wax on it either , My Roadstar has 27K miles and never made belt noise.

Mine chirped more on cold mornings than warm. I adjusted the belt and it stopped. The rear pulley, front pulley, and belt are all made of different materials that expand at different rates so the adjustment is very important!

Its been mentioned many times on this forum when the subject of belt chirping comes up but lubricating the belt with Harley Poly Oil works great. Mine has always chirped until I started using Poly Oil. I usually smear it on during an oil change and it does the job till the next change. Only costs a couple of bucks to boot.

I have something chirping, but not sure what it is. Started in the fall of 2011 and I soon needed to wear a full-face helmet. So, I didn't hear it all winter. Now that the temp is going up, I am wearing my halfy and I hear it again. It is only for the first mile or so after a complete cool down. I cannot tell where it is coming from, but the above posts all seem similar to my situation. I think the next time I leave the house in the morning I will spray the belt with water. If no chirp then I will know where the problem is.

Took it to the dealer today and the mech. said it just needed adjustment so he did it no charge , I hope that fixes it . Really good people down at World Class Powersports in High Point NC.
