i hother thave read on a few other threads on other sites that you can unhook your 02 sensors and it will run richer. if this is true would it be a good idea to do it will it hurt anything if i do. ive always heard that my bike runs lean from the factory so seems like it would be a good thing. anybody know if this works or not

My understanding is that when you disconnect the O2 sensors, the bike will not run leaner than the existing settings, the only function of the sensors is to remove fuel, not add fuel. I believe that unhooking the O2 sensors will not make the bike run richer, just less leaner. I have also heard that unhooking them will stop lean surging.

Kevin?

I'd sure like to unhook mine; just for aesthetics. They sure are butt ugly; sticking out of the headpipes like that.

I've been tempted to order two bungs to effective the removal of them. I'd like to hear/read more info of any issues concerning the removal of the O2 sensors.

so just how lean are you?

You can go to auto parts store and get plugs to replace them. You want oil drain plugs.
02's tells the ECM if there is to much gas going out the exhaust. By unhooking them your bike will pop less is all

So... has anyone actually done this? Removed and disconnected the O2 sensor leads; without doing anything else to the motor for fueling or air?

Well, I have no connection between my sensors and the rest of the bike... but I do have a Lloyd's VFC. Don't miss them sensors at all, and really don't miss the bike idling at 1500 rpm when started cold... it acts like it should, IMHO.
