I'm having trouble trying to recruit anyone to do my(our) first Saddle Sore 1000. Since I'm in northern California, I'm thinking of riding during the daylight hours as much as possible and probably ride north to Oregon 500 miles to get some Voodoo Donuts and back. Any thoughts or suggestions on that? I know, crazy to do a 1000 mile donut run, and I'm not even a cop.

I have no friends. Most of the rides were solo, 2 of the 15 IBA rides were done with a group.

In 2006 I rode from Milwaukee to Las Vegas to get a picture of my Vegas in Vegas. I don't gamble.

Two weeks ago I rode from Milwaukee to Colorado. In Colorado I bought gas and a Colorado jacket pin and headed east.

1606 miles in 23 hours and 49 minutes.

In 2012 I rode 1600 miles to Key West, FL just to start the ride to Prudhoe Bay, AK.

Is riding a 1000 miles to get a donut crazy? No!!

2006 was a good year. My first IBA ride, first long road trip on a Victory and my first trip story. A short story with two pictures.

The pictures are missing but here's the story of the ride to Vegas. Victory called it an "epic journey".

I'm sure Spock won't mind me adding him, he had 115,000 on his 08 and recently traded for a new Vision.

I'm surprised someone hasn't popped in with 175,000 on their Vision. In the scheme of things, I'm not a heavy rider. However, I have surpassed a Gold Wing rider at work that lives nearly a 60 miles from work and takes one or two serious trips a year. I live about 32 miles from work and he's got 153,000 on his 2003 GL1800 now. I was around 75,000 on my Vision when he hit 100,000 four years ago. He got a new Charger about two years ago so he's been eating the miles up on that now. He's gone to almost fair weather riding.

you are the undisputed highest mileage Vision on the planet. I did 31,200 miles my first year of ownership and I'm set to do the same for year 2. Apparently , the guy who had it before me was a fair weather rider. He averaged 5K a year for 4 years! Considering my yearly average in almost 2 years of ownership, If I had bought my Vision new when it came out, I could , in theory have over 186K on the Visionquest but it is what it is. I wasn't a good steward of my finances early on and wasn't in a position to pull the trigger when the Vision was first offered. I will be in position , Lord willing, when I need my next motorcycle , whatever that may be .

And when that new , groundbreaking motorcycle comes out , as a by product of my love for motorcycle travel, I will have a high mileage bike specific to it's model and make. I got too late a start to catch all the Vision riders. I have 78+ and I don't consider that high mileage for a vision

while I may be the documented case for the high mileage, I don't think I'm the undisputed champion. Other things to consider is time frame when it comes to equal mileage. I do believe there is a population that never touches these forums that have much higher mileage than I.

Vic 2 2008 replacement 36,000
Vic 3 2013 new 10/12. 29,300
Total on a Vision since 5/2008 100.300 miles.

I guess you can categorize it anyway you want to. I've got lifetime miles, miles on bike per bike, and odometer readings. I put about 200 miles on my first bike, a Honda 350, don't know how many miles was on it when I bought it. Then I put about 75,000 miles on my first new bike, 1981 CB750 Custom. Then no riding for 17 years and I got a 1984 GoldWing that I put 38,000 miles on it, starting at 25,000 miles that was on the bike, and 63,000 when I sold it. I had a 1993 GL1500 that I might have put 300 miles on it, it was a tank. Then along comes the Vision, which had 10 miles on the clock when I got it, but it will also lose a mile every so often. So I can say that the 157,000 miles that will be on it by the weekend are my miles. So my lifetime miles in about 12 years of saddle time is about 270,000 miles, a quarter of a million miles. There are many million milers still on the road today so I'm far from any significant achievement. Stay riding, my friends.

I'm speaking only to miles on the same bike. I am fully confident there is not another Vision with your miles Chris. I have 375,000 miles on everything I ever rode.
