They sell one model year ahead.

IE you could buy the 2008 in fall of 2007.....there never were any 2007s.

Right now you can buy a 2014....but its 2013.

Officially, and speaking of legally registered bikes, you are correct. Johnny is talking about the fleet of pre-production 2007 demo Visions that were out and about. They were indeed 2007 models, but never legally transferred to private ownership and registered by individuals. They did not have production serial numbers. They are factory owned, if they even still exist. Pre-production models of new cars, trucks, and bikes usually get destroyed and don't survive into posterity.

Some of those early demo bikes were "empty shells" and had no internal engine parts. They were just for visual display and for people to sit on to get a feel for them. Some were complete bikes, but were not serviced and were not shipped to the dealers with keys. Victory never intended for them to be started, much less ridden by the public. As pre-production models, they were not certified by the EPA and were not in their production tune. As was discovered by an intrepid team at a well-known dealership, the pre-production models did not have the 120 MPH speed limiter yet. http://www.vision-riders.com/articles.asp?Article=12&fid=37

There was also a factory owned Vision in the 2007 Iron Butt Rally.

Article states "All of these features introduced on the original 2008 Victory Vision are standard on the 2013 Victory Vision Tour, and most (except the heated seats and grips) are also found on the stunning 2013 Arlen Ness Victory Vision." Sounds like it spells out that 2008 was the first model year. Btw, the first one I saw in a dealership was in late fall, early winter around Nov or Dec 07.

Yes.

All the Visions that were REGULAR PRODUCTION models and sold at retail were registered as 2008 models. Mine is a fairly early one and the build date is November 20, 2007.

The 2007 PRE-PRODUCTION Visions were unveiled in the Winter of 2006/2007 and the one that Arizona Victory got their hands on and had unauthorized fun with with happened in early February 2007. Those are the 2007 Visions that are being discussed. Not the ones released for sale later that Fall.

There were never any 2007 Visions registered by individuals. Those bikes remained with the factory and probably don't exist today.

That is an incorrect statement (e.g. lighted badges, forged chrome handlebars, Xenon HIDs ...).
