The center light on my 2013 is burned out already. None of the Polaris or Vic dealers or auto parts stores stock it around here so I went looking. Turns out the Honda Ruckus uses the same bulb and is their part# 34901-MJ6-732. The local dealer has it in stock.

Didn't think the vicion came with a HID light in 13.

It doesn't, John. Its a halogen similar to the H4 in the other lights. This one is 35/35 and has a slightly different pin configuration. A H4 would fit but I'm figuring they must have had a reason for using the bulb they did so I replaced with the same one just a better quality. The original was Chinese and the one Honda uses is German.

When bulb burnt out a couple years ago we installed a 50/35 watt from the Polaris snowmobile . hasn't burnt out since.Don't know if it will work on 2013.

It burned out in 2 weeks on my 2013. I couldn't find the bulb so went with the PIAA HS1 conversion kit. It's awesome.

Hey Marc

How do you like the stock center light on your 2013? Is it worth stepping up to HID?

Actually I'm not using it anymore. I had the original one on all the time and it hardly lasted at all so I'm saving this one till I actually need it. I tried it at night and it didn't make a lot of difference. The HID is way brighter.

Stock cyclops (center) light on the '12/'13 Vision is halogen. 2011 was the last year for the HID.

I think he knows that which is why he asked if it was worthwhile stepping up to HID.

I like the HID on my 2011 a lot. Since I've installed headlight modulators though; I don't run it as much in the daytime though.

I wonder why they discontinued the HID after the 2011 models? Cost? Something inherently wrong with them?

I would guess they dropped the HID for the same reason they dropped a lot of the chrome that was standard issue on the early bikes and things like the gas struts in the saddlebags----cost.

As I remember it they dropped the price by something like $2000 in 2012. Had to pay for it somehow.

He asked if you DO (present tense) like it, not DID (past tense) you like it. I was just trying to help him out. I'll butt out.

Sounds like this bulb will not last. I have one out on my 2013
Dealer will replace tomorrow and I will ask why they will not last.
They will get tired of replacing them under warranty. I will not put out
the 5 bills for the HID but I do like the one on the wife's 2021 vision.
